The soup base is a Teochew Classic Style of White Pepper Style. Despite being a Teochew, I'm not a fan of peppery Bak Kut Teh but I would say that Joo Siah Bak Koot Teh is not overly peppery. Its soup has a good depth and slight pepper.

We were given the choice to mix sides dishes. Preserved Vegetables strike a good balance of saltiness and sweetness without being too oily. Tau Ki too.

Too bad the main item (Pork Ribs) that we wanted to order has sold out. Order the innards as they are all cleanly prepared and not overcook. Soup is refillable with request from them.

Fen Chang - $5.50 , You Tiao - $1, Lean Meat - $5.50
$5

Even the meat is tender and generous portions were given in the bowl.

As compared to their former location in Hawker Centre, I find that the current location is better as it is not so stuffy. There are alot of chain outlets BKT in the west especially in malls. However if you are looking for quality and a more economical BKT, you may want to consider Joo Siah.

Went for breakfast with my family and we had bak ku teh! As we were there quite early, we got to order the prime ribs. If you come after 9.30am the probability of ordering that dish decreases. Though there will still be the normal ribs. The prime ribs come with a fair bit of fats in it.We also ordered braised peanuts and vegetables. The latter is a little bland and oily. The bak ku teh soup has a very strong pepper taste, totally Singaporean style. On the left side of the stall got display a few

On the left side of the stall got display a few food certificates, including the show which Bryan and Calvin hosts.

The FoodI ordered bak kut teh ($4.50), pig trotters ($5.50) and preserved vegetables ($1). The chopped ribs had quite a bit of fats on it and the ribs was soft, tender and easliy detached from the bones. The soup stock was Teochew style with clear and peppery taste with strong flavour of pork broth without the over powering taste of the pepper hence very nice and tasty. As for the pig trotters, the portion is very huge with decent amount of meat, fats and skin and was super tender, super soft, yet

As for the pig trotters, the portion is very huge with decent amount of meat, fats and skin and was super tender, super soft, yet it did not have the over cooked feel at all.The sauce blend very nicely with the trotters and taste heavenly!!

The Price
Reasonably priced at $11.00++ for the whole bill

Overall
I will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this!

My favourite pig's trotter from this very stall at this food centre. I always asked for the $6 portion to be taken away. If the pig's trotter is smaller then they tends to add in a few pieces of braised pork belly to make up the value. The pig's trotter has a good mix of fat and the lean meat. It has got a nice fragrance of good quality dark soya sauce and garlic. The meat was tender and easily to eat.

This is another favourite bak kut teh of mines. I am always here to take away the bak kut teh, their braised pork belly and also the braised pig's trotter. Their pork ribs were cooked nicely to give it a good texture. It was soft enough and the meat came off the bone quite easily. The soup was clear with a slight peppery taste. It goes well with the rice and i enjoyed it.

Hidden in a corner of a market in the western regions of Singapore is a small Bak Kut Teh gem, going by the name of Joo Siah. $4.50 gets you a bowl of steaming hot bak kut teh with 3 pieces of bak kut and a bowl of rice. I was initially aiming for the more expensive loin ribs but was promptly informed that those were only available in the morning. The dough fritters were sold out as well. Nonetheless, the meat on the ribs were tender and moist, soaking in the goodness of the extremely peppery soup that was flavourful and light on the palate. I did think that the amount of pepper was an overkill though, almost numbing my senses and overwhelming the inherent bak kut taste. Overall a good eat and I'll definitely be back.

For those staying in the west most probably visited or heard of this particular Bak Kut Teh stall. This stall is famous for braised meat and pig's trotter other than bak kut teh. My personal favorite gotta be their braised meat, one of the nicest that i ever tried. I know most women stay away from eating fatty pork but i beg to differ. I am a big big fan of fatty braised meat. If it is well braised then it is not as oily as most people assumed it to be but nicely soft and tasted heavenly. I used

I used to hate it too but after tried those better ones, it turned me into a fan. A pity is the standard here can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes, it could be a little chewy and tough.

Bak Kut Teh is one of their best sellers too. The soup is nicely peppery and clear but savory. Again, the standard is a little inconsistent at times. It could be tough at times but it was mostly good with meat that easily off the bone when i bite it lightly.

I usually take home the braised meat and bak kut teh for dinner at home. I always opted for the bigger portion ($6.00) over the smaller one ($4.00). A good choice for those evenings when i am simply too lazy to cook.

Highly recommended.
