I was initially surprised that the restaurant was quite packed, but as long as you come before 1 on weekdays, it doesn't seem like a reservation is necessary.The interior of the restaurant is nifty, however, the prices seem somewhat exorbitant for dinner. Not sure if they use the same setup for dinner, but the plastic glasses may need to be replaced with either newer ones or glasses. We go for tea special, 2 fish and chips , 2 drinks, a dessert and a soup, love the food, fish crust is thin and nice, with tartar sauce, although vegetables no dressing but very fresh, not oily at all. Love their lemon tea too, one of the nicest,different from the factory-produced, peach cake very old-school taste, bread is warm, taste nice with butter, overall we enjoy the whole meal, spend $23.50 with gst and service charge, with the nice cosy environment esp sofa seats, we enjoy it very much.

I came here again with friend, this time i had their fish noodles soup first time I see a Western restaurant selling chinese style fish noodles. It is good that they put the fish and soup in a different plate. The fish was very crispy and nice, the fish soup tasted not bad, but a bit bland. As I saw this is a set meal so I thought that they should give coffee? But they told me that due to this is consider as soup, so no drink will be given.

I have ordered a set of student meal at The Ship Restaurant. There are actually a few sets to choose from and the one that I have chosen is Pork Chop with Soup of the Day, Bread and a Drink. It only costs me $10 nett. I think it's really affordable for students like us who do not have income.On the top of the Pork Chop is the Mushroom Soup which enhances the Pork Chop taste although the vegetables beside it is really plain. The Ship Restaurant has an interesting concept: it is designed to look and feel like a ship's dining room. Beyond the concept, this place serves up standard western fare. We tried the roasted prime ribs. The ribs itself was pretty good, with the meat sufficiently tender. The sauce was not too bad without overpowering the natural taste of the ribs. The service was also prompt. We will be back.
