Chicken chop have a special taste compared other restaurant as they include oats which is the secret recipe inside your mouth.

Both main course will served with butter bread and coffee. Can be better but overall is value for money. 👍👍👍

Their menus indicate that they have a wide range of western food and even hot plate steak.  Their weekday lunch menu changes daily, so check out what's on the lunch special before heading down, or if you can choose the day that has the special you want and then enjoy yourself!

The potato and leek soup was delightful as it was very tasty, and yet no sense of MSG used. There were half slices of potatoes that weren't mushy and were at the bottom of the soup bowl.

I loved the crispy skin of this grilled salmon and it wasn't oily. The salmon itself was tasty but paired with the japanese curry sauce. It was over the top for me. It hit the spot! The vegetables were also good and I was too full to finish up the extremely tasty but slightly salty sauteed potatoes.

To end off the lunch special, you get a slice of their home made fruit cake.

For $17.90++ you definitely get a lot for your money's worth, I was so full and yet content with my meal

The first time I visited The Ship restaurant was at Shaw Centre; that branch has since been "gone" with the building undergoing major revamp. Quite recently, I visited The Ship for dinner again, this time at Nex @ Serangoon, also with the same girls - Jacinta* and Amelia*.

This is a very interesting western restaurant with adorable interior decor resembling a ship literally - life buoys, steering wheel etc.

Even the table settings are ship-like, making one feel like they're dining onboard a cruise or ferry. The branch at Shaw Centre was even more authentic, with pale wood floorings if I recall correctly. Whether for family dinners or friends gathering, this restaurant provides the perfect atmosphere.

The Black Pepper Steak served on a sizzling hot pan was tender and succulent, and the meat was sufficiently marinated to taste good. Like any grilled steaks on hotplate, this piping hot delicacy was mouthful after mouthful of chewy goodness.

Lastly, the Seafood Plate consisting of prawns, scallops and dish, all grilled to tasty perfection , okay, maybe a tad dry, but still good enough overall.

I ordered a Pork chop meal. It came with a starter (Bun and mushroom soup) , pork chop and a dessert (scoop of ice cream).

The mushroom soup was not bad, quite creamy and smooth too.
The pork chop was really delicious! The meat was tender and not tough, the sauce was great too
The carrots were boiled and really soft. Their fries i feel were better than average, crispy

For the ice cream, there were three flavours to choose from, chocolate, strawberry and mint, Being a chocolate lover, i chose chocolate ice cream

Overall, the lunch was $10 with gst and service charge. Really affordable and with their high quality of food, i recommend this place for western food! Of course great ambience too

Outstanding presentation, the colourful combination looked tempting. Mussels and Chicken were both freshly cooked, especially tender juicy mussel. Pasta was springy as usual, the portion was sufficient. The milky cream-based gravy enhanced the tasteless chicken chop, entire was balnced. To be honest, the food was slightly overpriced for me. I admit the quality was there, but the dish was considered normal and nothing fantastic.

The restaurant have lunch sets for every day of the week! I'm sure the business must be good on the weekends. What is even better is that there is even a student meal for $8.50++ which includes a soft drink, ice cream, soup, and your main course.

I ordered the Beef Lasagna under the Student Meal and my friend had the Ribeye Steak for $19.90. The Ribeye Steak was a Lunch Set Menu choice so it also included soup, coffee/tea, and a dessert.

On the side, we ordered Rock Oysters for $19.90-- the oysters were huge and fresh. Would definitely want to come back for them oysters.
yum!

The Cream soup was served hot, it would have been better if the bread came toasty warm too. The bread was rather cute as it looked like a chef's hat. The icecream paired well with the chocolate cake. Honestly, wasn't too fond of the chocolate cake dessert as I found it kind of dry, but it was part of the lunch package. The ribeye steak came with a pepper sauce that actually had peppercorns inside. However, I think the Beef Lasagna was a good choice.

Do remember to request for the Student Meal from your waiter and they will give you the menu upon presenting and showing your student ID to them.

We went during lunch on a Monday and while they have a Lunch Special promotion, I chose to go with the Chicken Ala Ship dish instead, which is grilled chicken topped with mushroom, cheese and cream sauce, with a side of yummy roasted potatoes and vegetables. I actually requested them to remove the pork ham in the dish, which they willingly accommodated. So thumbs up for that! The food were also served pretty quickly despite our large group and the place being nearly full.

I love that the chicken was cooked just the way I like it! I just couldn't get enough of eating it with the cheese and cream sauce, although it was also delicious enough to eat on its own. This is a must try dish in my book!

Their dessert of the day, which comes with the Lunch Special, was Apple Cake and I managed to give it a try. It was quite soft and sweet, although a friend didn't really like it while the others thought it was quite okay. As for me, I am neutral about it as I normally go for the more sinful options like chocolate when it comes to my cakes.

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I wouldn't discount a return trip to The Ship in future, if only to try the Chicken Ala Ship again!

We go for tea special, 2 fish and chips , 2 drinks, a dessert and a soup, love the food, fish crust is thin and nice, with tartar sauce, although vegetables no dressing but very fresh, not oily at all. Love their lemon tea too, one of the nicest, different from the factory-produced, peach cake very old-school taste, bread is warm, taste nice with butter, overall we enjoy the whole meal, spend $23.50 with gst and service charge, with the nice cosy environment esp sofa seats, we enjoy it very much.

their soup was creamy but not very nice & not hot enough ,for free drink i had ice tea but it taste like plain water

dessert of the day was mango pudding,it was nice but too sweet
Service not very good,we request for cheese powder, the filipino staff can't understand, but he said ok ok then never come back again

On the top of the Pork Chop is the Mushroom Soup which enhances the Pork Chop taste although the vegetables beside it is really plain. The Soup of the Day is the Pumpkin Soup,it's up to my expectation as it's not too watery and too sticky, it tastes just nice. As for the bread, it comes with a butter but there's nothing special, it's just a normal bread.

The environment over there is really great due to the dim light although the place is a bit small.

The Ship Restaurant has an interesting concept: it is designed to look and feel like a ship's dining room. Beyond the concept, this place serves up standard western fare. We tried the roasted prime ribs. The ribs itself was pretty good, with the meat sufficiently tender. The sauce was not too bad without overpowering the natural taste of the ribs. The service was also prompt. We will be back.

Since this was already soup, I didn't get the mushroom soup of the day with bread. But it was OK, because what I got was a big bowl of creamy fish soup good enough for 2 pax. The crispy fried fish was served separately so it maintains its crispiness.

The soup was hot and creamy, and had generous noodles and other ingredients. The fish was crispy and it really complemented the soup. =D I enjoyed this dish.
