The bread is soft and the other ingredients matched well with the bread and the patty.  Just that the patty is not as juicy as I thought as I already ordered medium.  Probably the chef wants to ensure that its cooked.

It's served with salad and it's awesome.  Fries are really great as they are crispy, not too salty, and soft inside and not oily.

We also ordered tuna melt sandwich and it tastes good with the fries underneath.  Just that if they have slightly more tuna it'd be better.

Clam chowder is above average and it's of very big portion.  Just slightly too oily on the surface.  Taste is right and the texture is appropriate and it won't be too thick.  Girls please think twice about having this before your burger.

Service is good and attentive.  Very enjoyable evening.

Are you game? If you can wolf down this 1kg burger within 20 minutes all by yourself, you get the burger for free and your picture on the Wall of Fame (4 pillars and counting). The patty was thick, juicy and jam-packed with flavour. The fries were a bit on the dry side but they were acceptable. Although the flavours were there, the spareribs were quite dry and not tender enough for my liking. The giant onion rings were a pleasant surprise though as the batter was light and the onions were sweet and fresh.

Grilled T-bone Steak ($40++)

The quality of the T-bone steak was pretty average and wasn’t as succulent and tender as I had expected. The accompanying caramelised onion sauce was quite tasty though and added the much needed flavours to enhance the taste of the beef.

The legendary Roadhouse Wall of Fame was prominently displayed, showing off the proud conquerors of The Terminator Challenge. Polish off a massive burger stuffed with six Wagyu patties, cheese and bacon in 20 minutes and you dine for free!

For the rest of us with more modest appetites, the Liquid Cheeseburger Fondue (SGD 10++) is must-try! This innovative creation is a cheeseburger in liquid form, with generous amounts of minced beef, diced tomatoes and other condiments immersed in thick, rich molten cheddar. A skewer of bread biscuits accompanies this decadent dish.

The Mac & Cheese Bolognaise (SGD 20++) was simple combination of two classics, Mac & Cheese and Beef Bolognaise. With the fusion of these two eternal favourites into a single pasta dish, one can truly experience the best of both worlds.

A thick cheese sauce smothers the rich contents within. Beef bolognaise, parmesan and Monterey Jack all slathered with a rich, creamy dressing. How can one resist?

The Simply Brie-vine (SGD 24++) is one simply divine burger. The centrepiece of the burger is a 170g Wagyu patty grilled on Roadhouse's signature Josper grill. The thick patty emitted a wonderfully smoky fragrance and was satisfyingly juicy and flavourful. Slabs of grilled poached pear and brie dovetailed beautifully with the patty. The brie, a truly majestic cheese, was delightfully creamy. The poached pear added a hint of sweetness and tartness to the burger, nicely balancing the richness of the other ingredients. Sundried tomatoes and rocket provided the finishing touches.

Even though it was slathered in moist mushrooms (you can see them oozing out in the photo above), the beefy patty was not juicy at all. This was the case for all the other burgers we ordered for our table - everyone thought that the patties were just way too dry. The fries are probably the only thing I enjoyed here.

The restaurant is very cozy and dimly lit, borrowing the natural sunlight to illuminate the restaurant. The strategic location does not make the view very glaring, but grants a heavenly and peaceful feeling as you dig into your meal.

Roadhouse also provides very good and friendly service. The servers there were very passionate in their jobs, making sure to attend to every customer's needs. Roadhouse is famous for The Terminator Challenge, which requires brave participants to wolf down a 1kg burger within 20 minutes. Upon accomplishment, the burger is free for the participant and their name and picture will be pasted up on the Wall of Fame.

Liquid Cheeseburger Fondue - SGD10.00
Minced beef, melted cheddar, tomatoes & scallions, served with bread biscuits.
The liquid cheeseburger is a must-try for cheese fanatics. You can dunk in the entire bread piece into the melted cheddar. It is great eating it both hot and cold, so you can have a relaxing chat with your dining partner instead of focusing on finishing up the nacho cheese. However, I could hardly taste the minced beef in the cheese fondue.

Mac N' Cheese Bolognaise - SGD20.00
Cheese sauce, rich beef bologanise, aged parmesan, Monterey Jack & garlic bread
One can only wonder what the cheese sauce is made up of, but I am pretty sure that there is mozzarella cheese in there as well. The Mac N' Cheese Bolognaise were sticky and chewy and is great for all cheese-lovers.

Be forewarned though, you have to exercise those carbs away because the base of the ceramic plate is drizzled with too much oil. Thankfully, you can easily shed the fats off because Roadhouse is, well, located on a 'hill' after all.

Served with fries & coleslaw, the Simple Brie-Vine is indeed divine. You can select how well you want your beef to be cooked, and they choose the freshest and finest ingredients for you. The fries are crisp and golden brown, and the coleslaw is sweet to taste! My friend lamented that the fries look bigger in portion than the burger though, as if to say that the highlight of the dish seems to be the fries instead.

Cut through the beef and you can tell that the chef is really experienced. The plate is nothing but a chopping board, which may be rather challenging to eat if you're a messy eater. Still, Roadhouse provides a casual experience for the foodies, and if you desire an eatery which provides the ambience, great service and good food, Roadhouse is the way to go.

Fabulous Foie Gras

Get to know this place from Openrice so we decided to go there for a birthday celebration. It was pouring when we go over seems like a rainy cold romantic night! America style decor with friendly waiter/waitresses attracted me!

My other girlfriends whom came early ordered a few finger food the rest of us whom came a little bit late was to start snapping pics of the food!

After all the snapping is ordering of main dish time I ordered a Bollywood Prawn Star and my girl ordered a chicken little burger from the kids menu.

Calamari was not really crispy but it was really fresh, love the fries but I feel is somehow overdose of it! Portion of the burger was big too but I only took 1/4 of my burger as the patty was really salty till I can't eat much and gave up. My girl's burger was good she asked me to try one mouth it was very crunchy and the size of the burger was about the same as mine .... I was a little shocked cos in my mind kid's meal always will be small!

I've actually viewed the menu online already and once i spotted "Foie Gras", i knew that be my choice!

Fabulous Foie Gras $32 - 170g Josper-grilled Wagyu patty, foie gras, mango salsa, balsamic reduced shallots, rocket & garlic mayonnaise. This is the description on the website and it sounds yummy, isn't it! I was quite impressed with the portion of the foie gras. For the wagyu patty, i request for medium and it was pretty good. Even fries are nice too!

My friend who had the High On Shrooms $25, enjoyed her burger very much too! And of course we have to end the meal with desserts! Our first choice wasn't available so we opt for Valrhona Chocolate Brownie $12 - Sea salt chocolate sauce & vanilla bean ice cream.

Brownie lovers, please try this! It's moist and nice. And it's a perfect match when you pair it with the sea salt chocolate sauce & vanilla bean ice cream. It was so sinful but worth the calories! Haha!

I will definitely be back to try out the brunch menu =)

P.S: This restaurant is well hidden at one corner. It's behind Jumbo and along this stretch of furniture shops. Just go all the way to the end. You can also find some parking lots which is right beside the restaurant.

The chunky prawn patty was really thick! With generous amount of juicy and succulent chopped prawn meat deep fried in crispy beer batter, topped with mango curry mayo. The patty itself was slightly salty but it tasted quite good with the sweet and slightly spicy curry mayo sauce and iceberg lettuce...I enjoyed it very much.

My friend's Fabulous Foie Gras burger $32++. Thick chunky Josper-grilled wagyu beef patty topped with a rather generous portion of pan seared liver.

Friend was initially enjoying the juicy beef and creamy foie gras but was later complaining about it being a tad oily and salty towards the end of the meal.

Other non-burger dishes ordered were BBQ ribs $29++ for half-rack and Bacon meatloaf $35++

I tasted a bit of the BBQ ribs, it was not bad but friend said it was not juicy enough. The crispy onion rings were very good though. I also liked their homemade coleslaw, it was rather sweet and refreshing. I didn't try the meatloaf but friend who had it was saying it was a delish combi of crispy bacon strips with chunky sausage and juicy minced beef.

The main courses portion were all really generous, we were filled to the brim and had no more space for desserts. We decided to ask for the bill and pack the access fries (there was a lot left!) for takeaway.

Overall dining experience here was good for me, I loved the ambiance here which gives off a different vibe as compared to dining in town. Service staffs were friendly and helped us make arrangements with the bar we are heading to for after dinner drinks. The total bill was a reasonable $54 per pax (considering the huge portions and expensive meat used in dishes). I will return if they have a new menu.

Caramelized pineapples, pine nut tartlet and frozen banana and chocolate popsicles
I like the frozen banana and chocolate popsicles
It's real good!

Overall the food was alright. It can be more fancy. The plate is too big for the tiny servings.
Definitely the guys won't be full after eating ;/

Roadhouse serves up all-time favourite diner food in a rustic setting, resembling a cowboy’s den, great for convivial gatherings. This western-themed restaurant is one of the very few in Singapore to char-grill their meats and burger patties using the acclaimed Josper Grill –get ready to be impressed!

There’re not plenty of seats in the restricted space and it is mostly filled to the brim especially during weekends; alfresco seats are available, but scarce. A brief row of counter seating is available as well, where you can catch a glimpse the Josper Grill in action.

Soups

Wet & Wild Mushroom Soup $10

Soups available are Mushroom Soup and the Soup of the day. The soup of the day we had was the Tomato Soup, which I won’t recommend ordering; it tastes like a standard tomato sauce typically used for a pasta dish. The Mushroom soup is ordinary and wasn’t impressive, though it didn’t taste bad.

Soup of the Day $10

Salads

Cajun Chicken Salad $13

Among the five choices of Salad available on the menu, I tried the Cajun Chicken Salad that is composed of crisp rocket salad, tender Cajun chicken chunks that are succulent and juicy, fresh tomatoes, cashew nuts for that crunchy texture, all tossed in a sweet homemade honey mustard dressing that is used sparingly.

Starters

Crusty Blue Swimmer Crab Cakes $15

For starters, I highly recommend the Crusty Blue Swimmer Crab Cakes. The breaded crust is fried to a golden brown; it is crispy without being greasy. Instead of the mushy interior you’d typically find in crab cakes, the one here encompasses moist chunky pieces of crabmeat minus the starch. Served with sweet corn kernels and savoury milk glaze, this dish will perk up your appetite!

Quesadilla and Tacos

Mushroom Melt Quesadilla $13

In the quesadillas and tacos menu, the Mushroom Melt Quesadilla is highly recommended. The taco shell is baked to a crisp with a nice char, with melted gooey cheese within. It’s delicious and it left me wanting more.

Burgers

Simply Brie-vine Burger $24

The highlight of that evening was the Simply Brie-vine Burger. Expect a 170g Josper-grilled Wagyu patty arriving straight out of the grill, sandwiched between a homemade bun together with grilled poached pear, Brie cheese, wild rocket & sun-dried tomatoes. The thick piece of patty is orgasmic; instead of the minced beef you’d typically get in burgers, the ones here contain tender chunky pieces of meat, so moist and juicy. The moment it arrived at our table, I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

Miso Cod Burger $26

If you’re not a fan of red meats, the Miso Cod Burger is no less impressive. The Josper-grilled miso cod specked with toasted sesame is so tender and fresh, and simply delectable. I would order this again the next time I visit!

Dessert

Old-Fashioned Apple Strudel $12

I enjoyed the Old-Fashioned Apple Strudel, that is made up of cinnamon apples, plump California raisins stuffed in a light crisp pastry baked to perfection, sided with vanilla bean ice cream.

Cranberry & Walnut Brownie $10

The Cranberry & Walnut Brownie is a tad sour for a brownie to please my sweet tooth, but the liberal drizzle of Varlhona chocolate sauce is divine.

Esther’s Lemon Meringue Pie $10

Esther’s Lemon Meringue Pie came in such a beautifully constructed piece of art – it looks like something you could give as a gift providing it doesn’t fall apart in the gift box – that I almost couldn’t bear to dismantle it. Taste-wise, the lemon curd on its own is a tad too tart, and the meringue on its own is a tad sweet. Put them together, the result is magical.

In conclusion:
Roadhouse gets a tick in all positive aspects in terms on the food and flavour. Service-wise, it is casual and efficient, but could deem as a little unprofessional if you’re a discerning diner.

Business is brisk; although reservations are not necessary, it is recommended to do so especially during the weekends.

Roadhouse is also home to the Terminator Challenge, which requires fast eaters with a huge appetite to wolf down a 1kg burger within 20 minutes. Once accomplished, they get the burger for free and their names and pictures on the Wall of Fame.
