mee pok fishball noodles $3: There's usually a queue at this stall. Curious about the hype, I decided to try it out and indeed, it was a satisfying bowl of fishball noodles. The fishballs were bouncy, soft, and did taste like they were handmade. The noodles were well-cooked and the chilli complemented the noodles well. The noodles also had that springy texture and was able to hold the sauces well. I also loved the fishcakes! This is certainly worth a try

As it was a weekday, I chanced a short queue at this stall and I quickly seized the opportunity to get my food.
I ordered the dry Mee Pok (Thin yellow noodles) with chilli. It came with a bowl of soup with 3 fishballs and several slices of fish cake.
The noodles were al dente and was tasty with the chilli, fried shallots and pork lard. The fish balls are slightly bigger than normal and irregularly shaped, indiating that they are made by hand and not machine-made. The fishballs had a good bite to it and were not bad.
The owner was also invited to suport Singapore Day overseas, where a big carnival is held overseas in a big city like London/ Melbourne to allow overseas Singaporeans to come together, network and celebrate their Singapore roots. at the carnival, skits and food are provided, allowing Singaporeans living overseas to reminise the food from Singapore that they miss eating.
They also have a stall at Redhill Hawker Centre that is run by the stall owners daughter and son-in-law.
Try it!

One of nice fishball noodles stall, they sold out by 2pm, so if you want to go eat, be prepared to go early and queue for it, it is worth to queue for it as indeed tasty. Love it as freshest ingredients are used.

There was a really long queue when i went for lunch on a week day.I joined in the queue and waited for about 25 minutes to order and to get my bowl of noodle. The fishballs have got a noticeably bouncy texture and tasted really fish. The star is no doubt the fishcake. I added $1 for an extra piece of fishc

They are supposed to be famous for the dry version of noodle with the specially made chilli. Apparently, the chilli tasted decent but not particularly outstanding.

I happened to share the table with one of their regular customers. This friendly auntie started sharing stories of the owner and their noodle. She told me that the elder brother of the owner has another stall over at Ghim Moh Food Centre with equally long queue.

The bad news is this food centre is currently closed for renovation but the good news is the daughter and son-in-law of this particular stall has a stall at Old Airport Road Food Centre sharing the same name.

There was quite a long queue at this stall, I had some time, so decided to queue for fishball noodles. I queued for almost half an hour before I got my bowl of noodles. As I was queueing, I realised the uncle prepared each bowl of noodles very meticulously, ensuring the right amount of ingredients were included in and using a pair of chopsticks to mix the noodles! That was the reason why the queue was so long! It was not bad a bowl of noodles. The ingredients were basic but the noodles were sti

It was not bad a bowl of noodles. The ingredients were basic but the noodles were still a little tough. The fishcakes and fishballs were flavourful.

Well.. knowing it is famous from it's long long queue...

Be prepared to queue and wait for at least 20-30 min during lunch hours... be patience if you want to try this authentic fish ball noodles...

reason why i feel it is authentic because of the fish cake and fish ball they uses...
from one look you will know it is hand squeezed fish ball.. and the fish cake is also very old school looking...

very worth of trying it... giving me the old school feeling when u are eating using the Rooster Bowl... fish ball is very Q~~~.. it is reported by newpapers article that they are famous for their Spicy Dry noodles... it's the home made sambal chili that they used which made it special..

the cook (uncle) is very friendly too.. the way he cook u know he have been doing it for many years, and he will insist to cook one bowl at a time.. and that's the reason why the queue is so long, but you can be sure that each bowl of fish bowl noodles got consistency

totally worth queuing
