After trying sundubu chigae from the many korean restaurants in Singapore, this restaurant has one of the most authentic silken tofu soup. Diners can choose between pork or seafood. I would try the pork instead the next time. Similar to all korean restaurants, they serve some side dishes before the start of the meal. The side dishes were great, especially the kimchi and the steamed egg. The staff were very polite and helped us to a second round of side dishes when we requested. One thing to note would be the crowd during meal hours. I would recommend reserving before visiting the restaurant.

A must-try- the chili octopus on a portable hot plate! The octopus was fresh and cooked perfectly so the flesh was tender yet had bite. Best of all, if you find it a waste of all that delicious gravy left over, just order a bowl of seaweed rice ($3) and the staff will cook it for you on the hot plate and viola! You've got yourself another dish! Warning: Make sure you've got an appetite when there!

Love two of the side dishes: anchovies and the potato salad. Most of us tried the seafood tofu soup, which was delicious, tofu was silky, but seafood portion is not that generous. Give the pancake a miss, nothing special. Overall decently priced, but seats are quite limited, we had to wait for a while to get a table for dinner. Service was good! Barley tea was free-flow.

bibimbap $11.9
Before eat, must mix all the ingredien.
I looks so healthy, meat, rice, egg and vege.
It contains all nutrients.
I guess bibimbap means mix.

The sauce they provided is really great, it make me have much appetite to eat.
The meat and the rice mix well with the sauce.

oyster pancake $8.9
This pancake taste good.
The thickness is jsut right and it taste nicer with the sauce given.
All what i think is the power of sauce.
But i still more prefer the hawker center's oyster pancake as it is more traditional.

seafod tofu soup $11.9
This seafood tofu soup is quite nice.
Especially use the spoon to drink the soup.
It is so warm and it's spiciness is just right.
I put some kim chii inside the soup.
It taste nicer.
The tofu is really smooth and there are quite lots of ingredient inside.

This is a nice Korean Meal, i always like korean meal.

Doong Ji is located along the busy East Coast Road, you can find public parking along the road but it would be hard to get a lot during lunch peak hour as there are many well-known eateries along the shophouses. Doong Ji is located along the busy East Coast Road, you can find public parking along the road but it would be hard to get a lot during lunch peak hour as there are many well-known eateries along the shophouses.

We worked in Katong area and would take a bus here to lunch. This day, Christmas Eve, I brought my husband ("finally!", he said) to try it out.

The restaurant was of a small scale, but you would not feel 'congested' as tables were well spaced out. The pretty wall decals and warm lightings made you feel at home, more so when the big lcd TV played the latest Kpop MVs. Chopsticks and spoons were neatly placed in a box on each table. Washroom was available in the restaurant too.

The weekday set lunch cost $8.90, featuring their popular dishes such as bibimbap, kimchi soup + rice, beef soup + rice, etc. Unfortunately set lunch was unavailable on the Christmas Eve and it was not make known when the wait staff handed over the menu to us.

I had my usual - Tofu Soup (seafood). The soup was served piping hot, boiling in fact. Generous amount of round tofu, squid and prawns. Soup base had a tad of kimchi flavour, non-spicy. We also shared a plate of fried squid which came with the mayonaise dip, and my, it was good to share for 4-6pax. The quantity was too much for us and after 3,4 pieces i got tired of it. Batter was too thick to my liking and was kind of bland.

YEA! : nice ambience, good food, reasonable price.

NAY. : wait staff could have been more meticulous

spicy beef soup ($9+)
the soup is nice, fragrant with the beef smell, but it may not suitable for those who dont like too strong beef taste. Anyway i love it, and inside there is veggies, quite alot of beef slices, egg and other ingredients. The soup is medium spicy, i think the spiciness is pretty good. This whole bowl of soup really goes well with the steamed rice, i am so apppetised.

Rabokki ($8+)
rabokki is actually tteokbokki (rice cake) plus ramen. this two dish are combined with the rice cake sauce and they blend well. the sauce is a bit sweet so i dont quite fancy of it, anyway it is still not bad. The rice cake is chewy and nice. maybe i willl like this if they make it more spicy.
