The food all tasted very nice! Not hard to find at all the location. Open till 12mn. Waiting time abit long as usually the rice needs time to cook and followed by the ingredients. So love the Assam fish recommended by the person. Taste absolutely nice! The stir fried Kailan was well cooked & it taste nice. Overall the food is nice! Worth trying! But somehow this 3 dishes cost total of $60++ Rather abit expensive.

It took quite a while to get our order done, the chef cooked everything from the scratch.

One of the signature recipe, sizzling pot of rice was the must-order dish. I can understand that Charcoal cooking was the best way to infuse nice smoky flavour, chicken was juicy fragrant and well-marinated. Stir-fried on our own, the rice was perfectly mixed with Salted-fish, Chicken, Chinese Pork Sausage and veggie. Crunchy burnt bits of rice sticked at the bottom were awesome, impressive wonderful texture and taste for me. Best eaten while it was still hot, portion was rather generous. Overall was a satisfied meal, I don’t mind to travel here again to try out other specialties.

Claypot is their signature dish and ones should not miss out, the claypot rice is cooked to order in an earthen pot, laden with a myriad of ingredients including well marinated chicken pieces, Chinese sausages, waxed pork and bits of fragrant salted fish. The claypot rice was very well cooked and taste scrumptious, the rice is cooked directly from the claypot and that takes at least 25 minutes to one hour wait. So do call them up to book in advance. The claypot came with generous chunk of chicken meat which was succulent, together with other ingredients truly makes the claypot rice here an excellent dish that you cannot miss.

Home-made Tofu with Prawns自制豆腐虾球
The home-made bean curd was silky soft and flavoursome, fried with prawns and topped with the gravy which is hauntingly lip-smacking, this simple and yet satisfyingly dish is certainly a love by many.

Lotus Duck莲藕鸭
One of the best lotus duck we even tasted, the duck braised for a long time to achieve tenderness that easily melt in your mouth. The sweetness of the lotus root are well infiltrated into the duck meat making this seemingly boring looking dish a big hit here.

Stir-fried French Beans with Shrimps干炒四季豆

A wok with high heat and quick stir-fried is a must to retain the crunchiness and yet delicious vegetable. Lorong 33 claypot rice has never failed us for this dish, the perfectly cooked beans topped with the dried shrimps crumb and seasoning, another lovely dish that must try.

This is one of the best claypot rice i ever eat, ingredients used are top grade, chicken being marinated, it is very tasty, there are mix of sausages inside, chilli very spicy, i personally don't eat the crust at the bottom, but this one is too nice that i eat, it tastes like japanese rice cracker, we did not order before we go, we wait 30 mins for it but it is worth the wait. the taste is too nice that i would like to go back again. I did not opt for the wet tissue as it was chargeable. Roadside parking lot is foc after 5pm, i think they actually hv free parking tie up with one of the "hui guan" at another lorong. if you can't find a lot, do check with them on that.

We went to Geylang Claypot and the place is worth the wait as the claypot is cooked from scratch. The place is very unassuming and has the old charm. However, the place is very clean and comfortable. The tables are nicely spreadout. The claypot is really great. There are many great dishes like the Pork Rib and the Long Beans. The pumpkin clayfish is also very creative and good. This is truly quality food. Check out their web site and they will tell you where to park and how to order in advance

The FoodI ordered the Claypot Rice and Stir Fried French Beans with Shrimp. After waiting for 25 minutes or so the Claypot Rice finally arrived filled with fragrant scent of the salted fish and chicken. The chicken was delicious and well marinated and is also soft and tender. The chinese sausages are very tasty and fragrant. The rice also cooked with the perfect timing hence neither too hard nor soft! The French Beans is very tasty as well, sprinkled with crispy dried shrimps adding more flavour

The Price
Reasonably priced at $25++ with generous portion

Overall
I find that this is one of the better Claypot Rice I have tasted and the French Beans with Shrimp is also pretty good.

Didn't really take much of the photos but you can check their official website http://geylangclaypot.com for more visual appearance.

What is so special of this claypot rice is that it is cooked from scratch using charcoal. So it takes longer time to serve the dish. The fire flames widely using charcoal and this enhance the fragrance of the claypot rice.

The beauty of eating claypot rice is having the crunchy burnt bits of the rice which mixed with the salted fish and sliced chicken meat. Though it is not that healthy to eat burnt bits but no harm having them once in a blue moon? No?
It was served plain and a mug of dark soy sauce. You can pour as much as you want into the claypot rice. The rice somehow rather doesn't have much moistness that i thought of.Overall it is still taste good with the soft tender rice with the salted fish.

The dinner was simple and nice. It was a birthday treat from my ex-colleague. So i finally get to try Singapore famous claypot rice at Lorong 33 which doesn't really give me big surprises on the taste buds.I still prefer Malaysia's claypot rice though.
Neverthless if you would like to give a try, you would like to call them for claypot rice before dropping by.

The Pork Ribs were well cooked and tasted good in the sweet sauce. The Lotus Root Duck was probably the favourite for all of us. The duck meat was moist, tender and cooked perfectly. The rest of the dishes were also pretty good. I was really satisfied with the standard of the food served.

The main highlight was the Claypot Rice. We requested the server to separate the ingredients and mix the dark sweet sauce for the rice. The Claypot Rice had chicken, chinese sausages and salted fish. Unfortunately the Claypot was not my favourite. I think the rice lacked the fragrant and texture.
