When we reached, we had to wait for a while because there were no seats, and later the host asked if it’s alright if we got seats outside. Feeling kinda bumped out, I cheered up after seeing the awesome view seats offered. Its facing the river so not too bad though it was quite humid in the evening.

When you dine at a German restaurant, it is only right if one orders sausages. Anyway I had the curry wurst which came with potato wedges and my friend had the pork cheese sausages. I end up sharing with another friend because I wasn’t too hungry and anyway the dish looked more like an appetizer.

The sausages are nice and they were very generous with the potato wedges. Was munching on them throughout the dinner.

It is also only right if one orders German beer! PROST~! (Cheers in German). I had the Original Munchner Lager while my friends ordered the Bayrischer Longdrink which contained both beer and vodka. (Nice combination if you are not a big fan of beer)

Overall it is a pleasant experience except that we often had difficulties catching the attention of the waiters/ waitresses. Maybe it was a busy day and we were seated quite far out from the main dining area and the waiters/waitresses hardly passed by.

Still, good place to go for authentic German food and drinks!

Always wanted to try out Brotzeit & finally got my chance on a Friday night! Have reserved a table for 4 at 8.30pm but the restaurant was too busy so we still had to wait for around 10minutes. We booked a table indoor but got an outdoor table, it wasn't that bad because it's an al fresco by the seaside which has a lovely setting that gives you a relaxed atmosphere. So we've ordered the Kasekrainer / Pork Cheese Sausages ($18.50) whereby the sausages are smoked and the dish also comes with potato

So we've ordered the Kasekrainer / Pork Cheese Sausages ($18.50) whereby the sausages are smoked and the dish also comes with potato salad and sauerkraut, which is actually sour cabbage. The presentation was very true to the menu and the taste is pretty impressive, I'm not a fan of the sauerkraut but the sausages were flavorful and the potatoes were addictive.

We've also ordered the Currywurst / Pork Curry Sausage ($17.50) and oh my, this was marvelous. The pork curry sausage was topped with chili-curry sauce that complements and enhances the overall balance. The potato wedges were fine though.

That was my first meal of the day since I was too busy to have my breakfast and lunch, so I was still hungry and went ahead to order a side dish called Spatzle ($5) which is a type of egg noodle or dumpling which they was homemade and simply butter-cooked it. Maybe because I ate this on its own instead of having it with some sausages, because I find that I got tired of it after the first few mouths. So I suggest this could be given a miss.

And what's a German restaurant without beer? We needed to drink and gotten ourselves the Original Munchner Lager ($9.50) and a Bayrischer Longdrink ($15.50). Paulaner sells the best Munich lager in the world and this was nicely golden brewed. The Longdrink was kind of my type of beer that's not too bitter because this beer mix contains the original lager with vodka and lime juice, which gives it good flavor.

Overall? Food was great, ambience was awesome but service lacks consistency, I did call a few times wishing to add on an order and one staff noted but later on forgot that I had previously called and went to serve some other tables. Yeah business was brisk but forgetting isn't really respectful. But besides this, the rest of the other staff were efficient, it definitely was not a perfect experience but I'll still return, maybe at another outlet at another time.

Oktoberfest is the world's largest fair held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. A 16-day festival which runs from late September to the first weekend in October, it is estimated that 6 million people attend the event yearly and celebrations include the excessive consumption of beer, Hendl (chicken), Schweinebraten (roast pork), Schweinshaxe (grilled ham hock), Wurstl (sausages) and Brezen (pretzel).

So...how did the event come about? It was said that Crown Prince Ludwig, which later became King Ludwig I was married to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on 12 October 1810. The joyous royal event was therefore marked for celebrations even till today but the festivities were advanced to September to allow for celebrations in better weather conditions.

While we searched for the best Oktoberfest parties in Singapore, we settled for Brotzeit which had over the years developed to be brand where common folks like us could easily associate with German cuisine and the bier (beer) of course. Serving freshly brewed draught beer from Paulaner, it is no wonder this F&B chain had been so successful since its inception to the local scene in 2006 with regional footprints in Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China (Shanghai and Shenzhen), Philippines and Thailand.

Let us start the evening to a toast with our 1-litre tall mugs! Prost!

We were largely tempted to go for the Oktoberfest platter which came to S$168++ for a feast fit for a King! Designed for party-goers of 4 - 6 pax, we had to give it a miss due to the sheer amount of food served, such as ribs, pork knuckle, grilled sausages, etc. Considered lightweight by the standards of the Germans, we went for individual portions of our preferred choices!

With limited portions served each day, there was surely no missing this crispy hind shank of grain fed pork served with potato salad, sauerkraut and homemade sauce on the side. There was simply nothing to fault about this pork knuckle with its tender soft meat on the inside complemented by the crispy skin coating it. Expect to hear the crackling as we gorged ourselves silly with the pork and the beer!

While the homemade sauce was supposed to enhance the flavours of the pork knuckle, we felt that it was rather pedestrian and nothing too impressive. The viscous brown sauce enriched the juiciness of the meat underneath that crispy skin but standalone, the flavours were rather muted and dull.

The ladies loved the potato salad! The potatoes were cut to bite-sized portions and generously coated with its own house dressing which was based on mayonnaise and similar to the US counterpart rather than the classic 'Kartoffelsalat', which is a popular variation prepared with vinegar and oil. There was a good balance of sweetness and just a touch of tang in the dressing which made it surprisingly addictive!

Nurnberger (Grilled pork sausages) - S$16/++

A German meal can never be complete without sausages so these pork bratwurst sausages were a must-try. It was served with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut but the highlight was none other than the savoury sausages oozing with juices as one takes the first bite.

The sauerkraut translates to sour cabbage, which is essentially finely cut cabbage that has been fermented by various lactic acid bacteria. Apart from having a long shelf-life, it has a distinctive sour flavour which is a result of the lactic acid that forms when the bacteria ferment the sugars in the cabbage. Did that gross you out yet? If not, then stay with me - because this was surprisingly good and helps neutralize the flavours and tastes from the sausages and the pork knuckle. While it could not be regarded as a healthier side dish, it enhanced the sausages and pork knuckle and I soon found myself drawing the last strings of the finely cut cabbage!

Mashed potato - S$5/++

The mashed potato was impeccably smooth and had a rich creaminess to it that the ladies could not resist and had to order a separate serving to satisfy their craving. Served with finely sliced, deep fried shallots, it added an additional layer of crispy texture to the fine mash.

Fladen Speck (Bacon Pizza) - S$16/++

Served on a squarish plate, every inch of this looked just like a normal pizza and we unanimously concluded that we ordered a bacon pizza. While it sounded boring and nothing too fanciful, it was pleasant to the palate and definitely went very well with the beer. Some might find the chilli a touch too spicy but hey, that is what the beer is for! Generous amounts of mozzarella cheese, bacon, onions, vine ripened tomatoes and tomato sauce, this bacon pizza was well received. We especially loved the rye bread base that was considerably thick of about 3mm which I felt gave enough 'dough' to each bite.

We managed to be seated by 8pm and the draught beers were considerably cheaper where the 1-litre came at S$21/++. It would have been S$26.5/++ after 8pm, which make a considerable amount of savings! We had the Hefe - Weissbier, which is the typical beer from Munich; top fermented, unfiltered and made with wheat malt. It is naturally cloudy with vitamins and hints of banana.

While there was the usual manly bitter after taste in the beer and especially German lager, it was smooth and suited even the ladies. My only complaint was that while it was naturally frothy, the beer came rather short of its full 1-litre serving.

It was cash on delivery for the drinks and meals, so have your cash or cards handy to pick the tab as soon as the orders were served. The ladies serving our table were friendly and approachable though the loud music and partying in the background made talking quite a chore and at times we were shouting our orders across!

Good beer, gorgeous food, lovely ambiance and great customer service, it certainly left us trio impressed! Looking forward to the next German meal already!

The salad was very fresh and perfect for 2 to share-- love the mozarella balls and the bits of sun-dried tomatoes which added a tangy hint to the salad. THe sausage platter was a surprisingly good for me, given that I am quite sensitive to the 'porky' smell usually and I dunno if it was the hunger from the run I polished off more sausages than I could usually.

In fact, the funny thing is being one who often prefers chicken and white meat, I actually found the spicy pork ones quite yummy. Good for 2 to share and always goes well with a good portion of sauerkraut. =)

because they have big size of serving i usually don't order appetizers or soup. the main courses i order are the pork knuckle and the sausages. the pork knuckle comes with not-so-mashed potatoes and veggies and that is enough for me take and not ordering salad anymore. the crispy skin of the pork knuckle makes the dinner feel so lively. eating the crispy skin together with the pork meat and mustard sauce, wahhh is just sooo amazing. another dish that is a MUST is Würstelplatte / Sausage Platter. different kind of sausages put in a plate served rightly for dinner. i prefer the cheese sausage, feels just like cheese burst all over the place. if you are going on a big group, i would prefer to take the Brotzeit® Platter which contains of pork knuckle, sausages, and pork schnitzels. every time i visit here we never order less, we always end up eating and eating & never got upset with the taste because it is almost the same taste that we want to have while eating in Brotzeit.

The Paulaner beers always come together with pork knuckle. this is also a MUST beverage that needs to be ordered. since you will be overwhelmed with the pork knuckle and sausages, it will be a very good decision to take a sip of cold beer so that you can eat more.

Even though Brotzeit got some branches across Singapore, I would still prefer this Vivo City branches because it got a nice view of Sentosa island especially at dinner time. they have indoor and outdoor if you prefer to watch Sentosa Island's view and breezy wind in the evening. Service is also quick and won't make us wait too long to get the food served.

I wanted to grab lunch but everywhere else is packed full and wasn’t in the mood to queue so ended up in this cool and modern decorated restaurant. We ordered Homemade buttered Spatzle, Roasted Potatoes and Chicken Pizza Creamy and tasty buttered spatzle as the cheese coated goodies were soft in texture. Sliced roast potatoes was yummy and well coated with seasoning. Pizza was scrumptious and interestingly squared in shape. It was crispy on the charred bits. A must try!

Remind me never to order Brotzeit's Iced Coffee - you must be thinking, so how bad could it be right?Look at the weak color. The huge amount of foam, snd that sugar syrup which was essential. But didn't really save the drink. It was painful.I am no beer drinker and no one should be walking in to get a drink here. But I really needed a rest and thought I'd settle for anything.

Pork knuckle portion consider huge can share among 2-4pax, the highlight of the dinner definitely goes to pork knuckle...the part that gives you surprises is the skin, which is very crispy yet not salty, awesome...one plus point for this dish, is not oily at all (Ladies love it) making a lot of crunch noises when consuming the skin, the meat is tender and juicy...

The sides we order are Pizza, Wedges, Fries & Potato Salad and what surprisingly it goes perfectly well with wheat Beer/draft Beer and pork knuckle!! Wheee!!

Overall, Brotzeit served wonderful german food, making my visit worth while...

The pork knuckle was as crunchy as it looked. Each bite was accompanied with crunchy noises lolxx... The meat was surprisingly juicy, won't consider it very tender but it's chewy without being tough. It's very much like our chinese roast pork belly, very sinful indeed. But we aren't saints, we aren't super models, so we are allowed to sin and eat, YES!!!

This is totally worth it and the price is reasonable too.

It's a mistake to order this as the Pork Knuckle was already more than enough for the 2 of us.

It tasted like nothing but flour, so we didn't finish it.

One of the German Speciality called Russ’n, a mixed beer, which tasted fruitier. The service staff put down the glass carefully and wished us ‘’prost’’, means "enjoy your drinks".

Although the price of the food is slightly higher, but we enjoyed our time here. Cheers!

Seafood salad is the mixed salad with smoked salmon, seared tuna, prawns, and greens such as semi-dried tomatoes, olives, grilled zucchini, orange wedges and sour cream, finall tossed with homemade dressing. The colour is gorgeous, and tastes refreshing, especially during such a meaty meal.

Brotzeit spinach pizza, is topped with lots of cheese (including mozzarella cheese and feta cheese). The pizza base is spread with tomato sauce, ingredients such as baby spinach, vine riped tomatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms. It tastes quite nice, but it would be better if the base crust is thinner.

Sausage platter (for 2 pax), contains many kind of authentic sausages, namely spicy chicken sausages, Nurnberger sausages, pork cheese sausages, Weisswurst and garlic pork sausages. My favourite is the spicy chicken sausage, the spices used is very flavourful, spice up my appetite.

One of the must try dishes and its my favourite. The outer layer is extremely crispy, deep-fried but surprisingly the meat is not dry, they have side dishes that serve together, one of it is the sour cabbage, quite an acquired taste for me but can help to boost my appetite, overall it's hearty but not too heavy. However please take note, you may need a few people to finish this.

Their service is prompt and the foods here are quite delicious. One of our favourite orders will be their chicken and pork german sausages. Both versions are really tender and juicy, and really nice to eat it on its own or to dip in their special made sauce as well. The portion are quite generous and we had a very satisfying dinner on that evening.
