had lunch with a friend at itacho ion orchard today on 23.10.2015. ^^
we were there at 1.15pm, hardly any queue & friend already seated at a table when i arrived.
this friend is quite active in charity work. she is receiving some award from the msf minister this evening.
i ordered the chirashi don for myself, S$14.90.
there were 2 amaebi, 2 tamago, 2 salmon,, 2 hotate, 1 hamachi, 1 tai, 1 kajiki, 1 ika & 1 saba. total 13 pieces.
quite decent really at S$14.90. hotate was very good. so was the amaebi. tamago & salmon were pretty good. only the tai was tough. sushi rice was not good. i made better tasting sushi rice.
there were promotion items like the salmon sushi for S$0.40, but 1 person could only order 1 piece.
so i ordered the salmon sushi with mentaiko for $0.60.
my friend had the unajyu oyakodon. it looked ok.
she said it was good.
& she ordered some fatty salmon.
it looked good, but for S$5.10 it was not great.
lunch was S$41.65 for 2pax.
quite doable but nothing great.

Itachi sushi is one of the sushi restaurants that I'll go back for patron because of the consistent quality that the restaurant always offer. They also have interesting and cheap discounts such as one sushi is $0.40 but can order max 2 PCs per customer and those sushi is hot-selling because I could not get it that day.. Therefore I ordered soft shell crab salad, ala carte sushi and the service is super efficient. The soft shell crab salad's portion was enough for 2 to share and i like the crisp

The soft shell crab salad's portion was enough for 2 to share and i like the crisp of the outer layer covering the soft shell crab and it is not oily at all. It came with some greens that make it taste balance when eaten. The ala carte sushi such as the salmon sushi was served fresh as we saw how the chef cuts and put them on top of the rice and place it infront of us!

I finished this in 10 minutes. The curry here is pretty tasty which has a thick texture. It is heavenly when you mix the rice and curry chicken together! Perhaps this is why I ate too quickly I felt that I wasnt quite full when I am done with it. After adding gst and service charge, it cost $13.90 which is affordable. All in all, I recommend this!

This was my first time dining at itacho sushi. There is always a long queue esp at peak hours! Decided to try itacho with my family for dinner We ordered sashimi, sushi, eel don and many more to share. I love their salmon sashimi as they were extremely fresh and soft! The beef sushi was not as nice as i had expected though ): Perhaps should stick to their salmon sashimi!

It is yummy and I love the roasted salmon with cheese but it is actually just a small piece of cheese n codfish atop the normal roasted salmon sushi ($1.30), so I feel that just ordering the roasted salmon sushi will suffice. There are also other new prawn sushi which I didnt try though. Shall leave it for the next visit.

Also had the green tea cold noodles for the first time today, very refreshing n tasty, good for green tea lovers!

One thing for sure, service here is better than before. We sat at the sushi counter and the chefs were really friendly. On top of that, food was delivered quite swiftly after we have passed the order slip to the waitress. Beside that, I also noticed that the amount of service crews and number of chefs has increased as compare to the old "b2" itacho.

We ordered 2 fatty salmon sashimi ($5.10), 1 tuna sashimi ($7.50), 2 roasted egg ($4.80),and 1 roasted salmon roll ($3.80) and has a total spending of $24.95. The salmon and tuna sashimi were very fresh and for the price tagged along, I think it was really a very affordable sashimi to have. The roasted egg (I have ordered the warm version one) was hot and the sweetness of the mirin was just right and super delicious. Thus I ordered another portion after i had the first. Thus I highly recommended the roasted egg. In my opinion, the original ones are the best. The roasted salmon roll has avocado in the middle that gave it a smooth finish. However I find it too big to be finished at 1 bite. Overall in my opinion, the food at this branch was better than any other branches.

Do try to write down your orders on the order slip that is placed at every table and counter before you ask for the waitress. As this is a very busy outlet, service here might sometime be a miss. However considered the amount of people that patronized the place, I feel that it is quite normal that the serving crew couldn't attend to everybody's need at one go. Thus do give them some allowance for that, given that the food here is considered better than many of the japanese chain outlets in Singapore. =)

Cold buckwheat noodles served along with Japanese dipping soy sauce, it was healthy indeed. Refreshing and like its texture. A bowl costed $10.00, the price was reasonable. Of course the entire price in the list will subject to 10% service charge and 7% GST.

Itacho is one of my favourite place for Japanese food. We had salmon sashimi, it was very fresh and juicy, and reasonably priced. There's this sushi which sells at $0.40 per piece, it's very tasty, and is a must order. However, each person can only order two of that. I like the fried gyoza paired with sea salt, it has an interesting but awesome taste. The grilled pork handroll is not bad too, there's quite alot of meat in it. Service: poor
Food: can be much better. the maguro in the picture was blue fin tuna. it was part of a huge fish that had been sliced in front of everyone due to its opening ceremony. it was not as fresh as i had expected

the salmon was actually better in taste and freshness even though there was a discount on that item.
oh! the tamagoyaki (original flavour) here was very nice. much nicer than the ones tried at their other outlets. we had the warm ones, and they were served at just the right temperature, sufficiently soft and mildly sweet. tamagoyaki is the japanese eggroll.
Ambience: Good, more spacious than the previous outlet

Despite the crazy queue outside Itacho, me and my friend decided to forgo shopping and join the queue. To our disappointment, when we finally entered the restaurant, we were told that all sushi topped with roasted salmon (my favorites) are unavailable.

I had decided to eat the spring roll and some roasted scallop sushi. The spring roll is different from the normal spring rolls you get at dim sum restaurants, with the colour of the fried skin on the outside being the biggest difference. The vegetable fillings were well complimented by the crisp skin, though the spring rolls were almost dripping in oil when they were served.

The roasted scallop sushi were delicious. The scallops were really juicy and roasted just enough for their to be a slight (though not overwhelming) burnt taste. I highly recommend finishing the sushi at one go, thats the best way to experience the explosion of taste that can only come with good sushi!

All in all, it was a good dinner though I really wished that the roasted salmon sushi was available.

There was a 50% promotion on all sushi during lunch time - only for dine-in - when we went. Refer to menu below. Not sure if it is still applicable now, call Itacho Sushi to check before you go.

Salmon with Soy Sauce ($0.40++): A very fresh, flavourful, savoury satisfying pop of a sushi that doesn't require any further soy sauce/ wasabi. It is also cold enough to steal my heart away... in any case, my stomach agrees with it so much it is an instant appetizer.

Smoked Salmon with Black Pepper ($1.60++): Okay. Put my favourite sashimi and seasoning together and you get my instant approval... the freshness of the salmon just radiates out from my tongue the moment I start eating it. It's really smooth and slides down my tongue and I'm screaming for seconds even with a queasy stomach.

But you know they always say, always leave a good restaurant with half an empty stomach, that will give you enough hungry memories to keep you coming back! Okay, that was my logic. I'm definitely up for a return visit! Anyone?

Itacho is one of the better japanese food places that has good quality sushi, but price per sushi is quite expensive at average $3++; but you get what you pay for. I had the fatty salmon sashimi, which was very fresh and tasty, and costs around $5. I also tried the yellow tail with truffle oil sushi, and the mango and lobster salad sushi, which costs around $4.50 - quite pricey, but I liked the combination of sweet and salty taste.
