There are only two choices for pizza but both are of very different tastes. Crust is thin and crispy, thus you can really taste the pizza sauce and ingredients.

The bibimbap looks just like the ones you get at korean restaurants, and taste just as good too.

The roselle jelly is worth a try, light and refreshing. however, the lava cake dessert is a little of a disappointment with the lava not flowy enough...

And we super love their salads. Served on big plates, the fruits and vegetables are given generously but not overwhelming. The blueberry yogurt dressing has us wiping the plate clean as it is pleasantly sweet and light. Matches all the fruits and vegetables in the salad so well.

Restaurant is also super clean and hygienic...

The ambience is elegant and classy with creamy colour tones and warm lighting. The space is decked with cushy chairs. As such it was a comfy having meals with family and friends.
At Dinner, Sufood is serving a 8-course Italian-Inspired Meatless Cuisine set meal at $29.80++ per person.

The first 2 course consist of The Sufood Appetizer and Sufood Signature Cider. I like the Sufood Signature Cider, it has a good balance of sweet and sour. It helps to whet appetite.
The plating of the Sufood Appetizer was exquisite. Each component was with different colours. It is not only attractive to the eyes but to the tastebud too.

We were advised to start with the Japanese Yuca Root drizzled with a blueberry coulis and move on to the lady finger and finally the Savoury Cherry Tomato. The souriness get intensified as we moved to the next.

The Rosemary Breadstick with either the Blueberry Coulis and another creamy sauce were served as dip. Bread was fluffy with light rosemary scent. I like the toasted version better that resulted in crispy texture.

A total of 4 salads is available for selection. We opted for the Classic Garden Salad with Caesar Dressing or Sesame Sauce and the Lettuce Vinaigrette Salad. Nothing outstanding about the salad.
The two other options are the Mushroom Salad and Tropical Fruit Salad.

Like the salad, 4 choices available. We went for the Root Soup which we find it outstanding. While the Pumpkin Soup was sweet and isn't the heavily creamy kind of soup. Even though I am not a soup fan, I appreciate the soup.
If you are wondering what other soup does Sufood Singapore offers, they are the Misto Mushroom Soup and the French Onion and Cheese Soup.

12 dishes for Mains; 4 Pizza, a rice dish, a baked potato, a vegetable skewer and 5 pasta dishes.
We ordered the Porcini Pasta and Macaroni Alfredo Casserole. We enjoyed the Porcini Pasta as we thought with the Red Pepper and Jalapeño sauce, it tasted unique. It has a little Sichuan flavour in this pasta dish. Macaroni Alfredo Casserole is a rich creamy with generous amount of cheese on top of the macaroni. There cream based has tomato added to provide a tanginess, to lighten the creamy feel.

Finally dessert time. Our choice of dessert were Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes and Mango Frollino. The Red Bean Dessert with Yam Cubes was filled with home-made goodness. While our vote will certainly goes to the Mango Frollino.

We ended our meal with 2 refreshing fruit, vegetable juices. I have The Purely (on the right of the photo) consisting of pineapple, choy sum and sour plum. While my mom has The Sunny with pineapple, orange and guava juice. Among the 2, we prefer The Sunny.

Ambience at Sufood is modern refined, with curvy, wavy lines reflecting a serene atmosphere of calm. Quiet alcoves, lined with functional tables and plush booths, have been carved out, with splashes of red intersecting the space. While great for privacy, the layout also makes attracting the attention of staff very difficult. The 5 colour philosophy is also reflected in the design, straight lighted bars of yellow, white, purple, red, and green, adorn the place.

Service at Sufood is very good. Staff are attentive and efficient, speaking quietly and professionally with diners. They even check for dietary requirements, before making recommendations on what to order! I note they clear empty / dirty tables and plates very quickly. Orders are fulfilled fast, usually within 10 minutes. Staff also regularly check on your dining experience, and ask for feedback on the meal. During payment, I was overcharged by accident, a mistake which staff quickly rectified and apologied for.

Food at Sufood is vegetarian, a healthy, wholesome, completely meat-free dining experience. Each dish uses fresh ingredients, prepared according to the 5 colour philosophy, plated to resemble Western Italian presentation, and is tasty and healthy. Ordering the set meal is possibly the most value for money, instead of the individual ala-carte items. Prices are slightly high for the quality and quantity of food, budget about SGD $32 per person for a meal here. Personally, I feel other similar places execute this concept better.

Loved the Mushroom Salad (SGD $6), with its mix of button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli, dressed in a savoury sour vinegar and garlic sauce. The vegetables are fresh, clean tasting, juicy, and earthy... comforting and satisfiying! Highly recommended!

Loved the filling Lucky Clover Pizza (SGD $15), shaped like a 6-leaf clover, designed to bring luck! A crunchy pizza dough base is topped with broccoli, lion's mane mushrooms, bell peppers / capsicums, and scallions, making for a crunchy, chewy, sweet, savoury, earthy treat! They even provide a plastic glove if you choose to eat it with your hands. Highly recommended!

Misto Mushroom Soup
hearty stew of mixed mushrooms simmered in vegetable stock that deliver a refreshing taste
The soup is made of 4 different types of mushrooms - Button mushroom, White Shimeji Mushroom, Bai-ling mushroom (bai ling gu 百靈菇), and Brazil mushroom 巴西蘑菇. The Brazil mushroom has a unique dried up appearance but taste crunchy. The soup is light and flavourful. I wish that we  could have been served more of it.

Rainbow Baked Pasta
classic Italian baked pasta filled with broccoli, cherry radish and oven-baked in signature creamy tomato sauce
The dish is kind of similar to another dish Macaroni Alfredo Casserole in this current menu, but this version is made with pink sauce which kind of make the dish less rich in taste.

Zesty Oyster Mushroom Rice
King oyster mushrooms infused with spicy sauce, served with oven-roasted rice and garnished with colourful vegetables
It is the restaurant's version of Bibimbap, but the taste is a far cry from the actual stuff. I feel that too much doenjang (a salty soybean paste) is added, which makes the dish rather salty. The rice has a odd curry powder taste which the staff replys that it is from the spinach. This is just not my kind of dish.

A lucky 6-leaf clover shaped pizza filled with Lion’s mane mushrooms, broccoli, pepper and scallions
The part that is topped with scallions, kinda of reminds me of the chinese style of Spring onion pancakes 葱油饼. Almost want to ask if there is vinegar dip to go with it. The Lion’s mane mushrooms is diced up to represent meat cubes. Interesting.

White Ferula Pesto Pasta
Italian pasta sautéed with fresh basil pesto and topped with White Ferula Mushrooms
The pesto sauce is quite rich and flavourful, which is balanced by the shredded pickled red cabbage in taste. The pine nuts give a nutty texture to the dish. One of my favourite dish tonight.

Mango Frollino
A flavourful layered cake with fresh mango cubes, custard sauce and blueberry
The top and the bottom are covered with egg crepe. The custard is served frozen with the mango cubes in it, in order to hold its shape. Feel that it would be better if there is more mango in it.

For Fruit Juices, there is 5 new drinks whose colors assoicated with the restaurant's logo, but only 4 are served in this tasting.

The Comfy
White in color, the drink is made of pear and yucca roots. Refreshing and cooling in taste. I am expecting the drink to be thicker since yucca root is used.

The Lively
Red in color, the drink is made of tomato and watermelon. Tastes mainly the watermelon. Would have prefer a stronger amount of tomato juice in it. Seem that cherry tomatoes are used here which is why the amount is not noticeable.

The Purely
Green in color, the drink is made of choy sum and sour plum. The sour plum lends a unique sour taste to the otherwise rather green drink. It really shooks one awake.
The Sunny
Yellow in color, the drink is made of orange and pineapple. Light and refreshing in taste.

Overall the food is not bad. Although the servings are in tasting portions, we are all quite full at the end of the meal. Looking forward to the launch of the dishes on 1 Nov.

Thanks to the people at Su Food, I got to try out their 8 course Italian-Inspired Vegetarian cuisine.

I have never been a big fan of Vegetarian food, but the dishes served at Su Food definitely made me a convert. I can't wait to bring my parents there to savor them in the near future!

------------------------------

Background Story:

Founded in 2010, SUFOOD is the first meat-free concept restaurant under WOWPRIME GROUP, the largest F&B operator in Taiwan. Through a joint venture, SUFOOD is launching in Singapore for the very first time at Raffles City in May 2014.

SUFOOD is not only inspired by Italian cuisine but also by how it is prepared; though only using basic cooking techniques, Italian cuisine still exudes diverse and rich flavors. SUFOOD thus relies chiefly on the quality of the fresh ingredients to create innovative and delicious meat-free cuisines.

Their manifesto of using the rule of five:

5-colour groups of vegetables & fruits to give you a variety of nutrients

5 natural spices for an added flavor boost and

5 cooking methods to present you with an utterly gastronomical indulgence!

------------------------------

The set course costs $29.80++, but I can assure you that it is definitely value-for-money, especially with the standard of food served and the pleasure of dining in such an amazing ambiance. I highly doubt you can find any restaurant that serves quality Vegetarian cuisine at such an affordable price.

PROMOTION:

They're currently having a promotion for DBS/POSB card members!

Enjoy a 1 for 1 8-course meal (worth $29.80++), valid from 2 - 4:30pm daily!

(But I mean, I would also go even without the promo because yes, the food is THAT good. I'm not trying to oversell them here. It's truly based on my personal opinion!)

Before ordering, the servers would check with you if you're allergic / can't consume Garlic or onion!

Definitely a thumbs up for their impeccable service!

The menu at Su Food is pretty structured and fitted to your personal palette. It focuses on an 8 course meal with various choices of salads, soup, mains, dessert and drinks.

We were first greeted with a cup of Mulberry Cider Vinegar to cleanse our palette before each main course. The vinegar might be a little strong for some on the first sip, but you'll gradually get accustomed to it after the consecutive sips!

For those who might not know what Tagliatelle is, they're long, flat ribbons of pasta. The Tagliatelle at Su Food brought pastas to a whole new level. They were so springy, chewy and light!

I would highly recommend you guys to order this when you are there as it's one of their signature dishes as well!

we had an interesting italian-inspired modern vegetarian dinner for 13pax RI G20 get-together at Sufood on 30.3.2015. a very good choice by the organiser. ^^ founded in 2010, sufood is the first meat-free concept restaurant under WOWPRIME GROUP, the largest F&B operator in taiwan. this raffles city restaurant opened in May2014 is it’s first in singapore. one of the friends used the phone apps to make a mosaic food picture (top photo). very nice! we had the italian bread sticks with mustard & berries dip. both were ok. i liked the mustard better.
a refreshing start.^^ the healthy ones went for the fruit salad. a few of us, myself included, took the mushroom salad, a popular dish. it was good. another took the summer salad. & the classic garden salad with a choice of sesame sauce or caesar dressing.for the soup, cream of pumpkin was a popular choice. i had the pea soup with oyster mushroom cubes at the bottom. maybe this was the healthy version so it was not an intense cream of pea soup, texture combination was great, with the crunchy mushrooms. it was the same also with the pumpkin soup, not intense & flavourful. a friend & i both thought we could do a better tasting soup than these 2.
some had the root soup, and the most healthy among us went for the cabbage & sweet potato stew.
the calzone came highly recommended. calzone looked like a huge curry puff. the dough was more akin to pizza dough. i must say after trying a few, i was in total agreement that calzone was the best dish/main course. i picked the pita pocket though. many of the main courses came with plastic gloves, if you wanted to share your food.^^ the mock meatballs were pretty ok but it was not as tasty & satisfying as the calzone. don’t really know how the porcini pasta tasted like, but generally the food quality was competent, pretty ok for vegetarian dishes though not spectacular. i would rate the squid ink as the second best after the calzone. the mushrooms were shaped to look like squid rings. but of course we are not really comparing these vegetarian dishes say with the creamy squid ink pasta at valentino or la braceria.certainly my own squid ink dish is much more intense & flavourful.
i tried the star pizza. didn’t think much of it. i had the black sesame penn a cotta. smooth, quite good. i had the penn a cotta with a healthy ashitaba drink. not sure what to make of it. at least it not bitter like wheatgrass. it wasn’t too sweet so it was ok. the company & dinner were very enjoyable. these gatherings came about quite naturally, a desire to spend time with friends & share views & experiences.^^ & wine was marvellous of course. :-) the food was good especially for the new experience, and it was good quality at a good price – 8 “courses” for S$29.80++. doesn’t blow me away for sure, but equally it is a place i am happy to come back a few times.

SUFOOD Singapore finds its inspiration in Italian cuisine; chiefly through its reliance on using basic cooking techniques that coax diverse and rich flavors from quality ingredients in order to create innovative and delicious meat-free dishes.
Strictly speaking, SuFood is not purely Italian cuisine but rather a fusion of both Italian and Chinese. You can find pasta, spaghetti, baked rice, salad, pastries in the menu – alongside seaweed, Chinese herbal or stewed vegetable soup and invigorating local desserts.
If you think vegetarian food is lackluster without meaty flavours, you will probably be impressed by how SuFood can challenge your prejudice. We tasted an 8 course meal ($25 per head) and from the appetizer, main course to the dessert, we give them a big thumbs up.
Besides its emphasis on health by providing balanced, nutritious food, and fresh ingredients without artificial chemical and additives, SuFood also did not neglect the aesthetic factor as well, as every dish served was beautifully plated and presented. The sequence of dishes served achieved a certain harmony in taste, allowing you to fully appreciate the art of eating and the beauty of the food.

Second Course : Starter
The SUFOOD Appetizer
A delicate trio of poached Japanese yuca root drizzled with a blueberry coulis, a stack of oriental, white water snowflake greens and a savoury cherry tomato jelly.
It is recommended to start from the sweet and crunchy yuca root, and end with the savoury jelly, while sipping the palate cleanser between the dish. The delightful looking dish quite pick up my appetite.

Third Course : Bread
Rosemary Breadsticks
Freshly baked, home-made rosemary-infused breadsticks, served with a sweet mustard or blueberry dip.
By default only the mustard sauce will be served, so one has to request for the sweet blueberry dip. Between the 2 dips, I feel that the stronger flavoured blueberry dip is a better choice.

Fourth Course : Salad

Summer Salad
A colourful array of sweet potato, carrot, pepper and seasonal fruits served with Thousand Island dressing and sesame sauce.
With just vegetable sticks and sauce, it is a simple and light dish.

Mushroom Salad
Button and Shiitake mushrooms with steamed broccoli and sliced cherry tomatoes glazed in a vinegar dressing.
It is a well seasonsed dish, light and refreshing.

Although the soup looks light and clear, it tastes quite flavourful.

Mushroom & Pea Pottage
Button, Shiitake and King Oyster mushrooms stewed with blended sweet peas.
I am not a fan of pea, but this soup is quite tasty with bits of mushroom in it.

Baked Potato Al Funghi
Steamed King Oyster mushrooms drizzled with Italian herb vinaigrette and a slice of baked potato, topped with stir-fried Button mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and a layer of melted cheese.
The King Oyster mushrooms are fat and juicy, surrounding a light sweet potato mash. I barely feel the cheesy cheese on the baked potato, but it is quite a tasty combination with the sauteed mushrooms and tomato inside.

Wild Mushroom Charcoal Tagliatelle
King Oyster mushrooms sautéed in a light olive oil and homemade dressing on a bed of fragrant charcoal tagliatelle.
At the first impression, I have thought that the white roll is vegetarian sotong. But it turns out to be King Oyster mushroom. The tagliatelle has a QQ texture, but I do not quite take to the taste of sweet basil which is in the dish.

Seventh Course : Desserts
Sesame Panna Cotta

Sesame Panna Cotta
A traditional Italian dessert of cream and milk simmered with a black sesame seed puree, served chilled and topped with walnuts.
A very milky dessert, with crunchy and sweet walnuts. Yummy.

Restorative Japanese Ashitaba leaves, blended with aloe vera juice and honey.
A very light and refreshing drink, with bits of aloe vera fresh in it.

Passion Fruit Calamansi Tea
Refreshing aromatic calamansi tea with fresh passion fruit.
This is a instant wake me up drink, which gives me quite a shock.

Overall the food is very nice and well valued for money. Despite the small servings, I feel quite full after the meal. Despite been a full house, service is quite smooth and swift. It is refreshing to find a vegetarian restaurant that is different from the usual and does not serve the usual mock meat which I dislike alot.

However, if you like, you can order the mains ($12.80 each), soup/starter ($5.80 each), and salads ($7.80 each) on an ala-carte basis, but really, the full course is more value-for-money. Two can always share one full course set if it might be too much.

They served a course of rosemary breadsticks, which came toasty warm with a mustard/blueberry dip. I liked the texture of the breadsticks and the combination, though simple, worked.

For this dish, the correct way to eat it is to start from the poached Japanese Yuca Root to the jelly (right to left in this case) as the flavours are arranged in ascending strength. The Yuca Root was interestingly slippery and crunchy in texture, with the tart berry sauce. Light on the palate.

This salad has an oriental flavor to it, because of the fried garlic topped upon the soy-sauced flavored mushrooms, along with a light vinegar dressing. Definitely for the ones who love mushrooms (me).

It is definitely an 'acquired taste' because it tasted like a cross between seafood and pea flavors. Acceptable to me, but I heard some didn't like it. Order this, at your risk, but I would say it's interesting enough to warrant a try. Our other pick of cream of pumpkin was safer, it was executed reasonably.

The presentation reminded me of the Mediterranean Shakshuka and tasted similar to it too. Paired with the pita bread which provided a nice bland contrast to the rich savory tomato flavor, every bite was moreish with the “meatiness” of the filling. I wasn't missing the meat at all for this.

The amazing thing about this dish is how the mushroom looked so much like rings of squid. This reminded me of Chinese style fried noodles 炒面 because of the strong garlic-sauteed-in-soy-sauce flavor to it. The pasta was a little overcooked though, so it was a little mushy. Pity. Otherwise, it could really be as great as my colleague who tried it, described.

For dessert, the creamy, smooth fragrant-with-black-sesame panna cotta was a hit. The banana cheesecake was somewhat disappointing because there was only a hint of the banana. The cheesecake wasn't creamy enough and the biscuit base wasn't as moreish as it usually is. Skip this.

This is a concept that takes vegetarian dining to a new level. Dining here, you don't feel like you have been shortchanged in your meal because the flavors are all present and delectable. Hits and misses, but this is a good place to try at least once and see/taste for yourself the creativity that makes these dishes stand out.

Furthermore, it felt squeaky clean, even somewhat sterile and hospital-like. Perhaps this may be attributed to the fact that it is barely a month old.

Apart from an inital blip when we were presented with menus printed in Mandarin, service standards were excellent throughout. After replacing our menus with the English version and guiding us through it, we did not hesitate to order the Italian-inspired set menu (SGD 25++). This set consists of a six-course meal, complete with a beverage and dessert. All items are also available a-la-carte.

Despite being the first course, the SUFOOD Appetizer left one of the stronger impressions. The poached Japanese yuca root was crunchy, mildly sweet and refreshing, as was the cherry tomato jelly. Although the stack of oriental white water snowflake greens provided a strange and unfamiliar mouthfeel, being slightly slimy, there can be no complaints about the taste.

Rosemary breadsticks: simple, rustic, yet delicious. The breadsticks were fragrant and flavourful, especially when dipped in the accompanying mustard. These would be even more stellar if they were slightly softer.

Perhaps the Cream of Pumpkin Soup was the most disappointing course for me. Although the soup was rich and thick enough, the taste left much to be desired, being strangely bitter. The cube of pumpkin was appreciated though.

I was definitely pleased with the Homemade Vegetable Calzone. The huge calzone came stuffed with loads of broccoli, artichokes and a variety of mushrooms. These were generous slathered in a rich creamy pesto sauce and parmesan cheese. Great success!

Not that successful for me, however, was the Vegetable Pita Pockets. In this dish, mushrooms, peppers and broccoli are baked in Arrabbiata sauce and served alongside toasted pita pockets. Nothing about this dish stood out for me, although nothing was particularly bad either. Furthermore, I found it a little too piquant.

The Osmanthus Flower Jelly was a simple maple syrup jelly infused with Osmanthus flowers. This was mildy sweet and refreshing, and rounded off the rich and heavy calzone well.

The traditional panna cotta is given a twist, served with a puree of black sesame and topped with walnuts. It was not too cloyingly sweet, and had a surprisingly light and fluffy texture.

Each item of the set menu may be had a-la-carte. However, if you have sufficient room for the full set menu, it is certainly recommended as it offers a wide and interesting array of Italian-inspired vegetarian cuisine. Try it to sample this wholesome and niche cuisine at an unbeatable price!
Other Info. : Wholesome food, excellent service.

Tried all 4 soups as well, and the Chinese soups definitely overshadowed the western offerings!
Both the “Root Soup” and ”Cabbage & Sweet Potato Stew” got raving reviews from all of us. the Cream of Pumpkin soup as well as Mushroom & Pea Pottage turned out to be slightly watery and bland.

Another recommended item would be the “Star Pizza” which is pizza shaped into a star shape and filled with generous toppings of oyster mushrooms, cream cheese and mustard sauce! I especially love how they generously topped the entire pizza with salted seaweed that gave it another flavour boost! There was even a guinesss record for the most number of Star pizza made one the first day of its opening!

The Wild Mushroom Charcoal Tagliatelle was recommended for the health benefits which charcoal brings. On its own, it is pretty tasteless, however give the noodles a little twirling to soak up the yummy sauce it is resting on. The King Oyster mushrooms are shaped in sauce a way we kept thinking we were eating squid! I am pretty surprise how much I enjoy dish despite the lack of meat in it!

To end of the meal, you get a choice of tea and tropical fruit blends with the desserts. We managed to try other quite a number of items and the one which stood out to me was the Yuzu Chamomile Tea and the Passion Fruit Calamansi Tea. Sour and yet leaving a coying aftertaste after every sip, it has easily to love this 2 drinks after a full meal!

VERDICT
After tasting so many dishes at this restaurant, I highly recommend this as a stopover for your family dinners or even as a healthier alternative for gatherings with friends! Well thought out dishes which are rich in flavour and uses natural ingredients, it is a good stepping stone for people looking to start on a vegetarian diet. It was the first time I left a food tasting feeling un-sinful about the amount of food which I had consumed.
I definitely did enjoy my experience there and thank you so much to the PR team for having me down to have the first taste of the lovely menu!

Sufood is located centrally on the second level of Raffles City. When you step into Sufood, the dining area is of an open concept, where you can see the whole of the restaurant. It is lighted with warm lights, giving a relaxing and comfortable vibe.
For dinner, Sufood offers an 8-course Italian-inspired Vegetarian Menu priced at $25++ per person. You may tell the waiting staff if you would like it to be made vegan or lacto-ovo style depending on how strict your diet is. If you have a smaller appetite, you can order a la carte as well.
Main courses are priced at $12.80 per course, starter or soup at $5.80, salad at $7.80 and dessert/drink at $3.80 per item.
The appetiser is a trio of poached Japanese Yuca root, stack of snowflake greens and cherry tomato jelly. We were told to eat the appetisers from the right to the left, from the lightest flavour to the strongest flavour.
Our favourite salad was the Mushroom Salad which I felt stood out from the three. It consists of mushrooms with some broccoli and garlic. The mushrooms were flavourful and the garlic and sauce accentuated the flavour. But well, if you are really looking for a green salad, maybe you might not want to choose this.
My personal favourite main course would be the Wild Mushroom Charcoal Tagliatelle. Tagliatelle is a thicker version of the linguine. One look at the dish, the first thing that comes across the mind would be Squid Ink Pasta! Well, it really looks like it doesn't it? The dish is surprisingly well flavoured. I think the key to the dish was the homemade dressing that lifted the flavour of the dish. The wild mushroom was lightly sautéed with olive oil and really resembles the texture of the squid.
They have four desserts to choose from. We chose the Osmanthus Flower Jelly which we don't have a photo on it. Basically, it is made from sweet maple syrup jelly infused with osmanthus flower. We felt that the osmanthus flower flavour was not strong and fragrant enough. But, it was definitely a refreshing and light dessert to end the meal.
We also chose the Vanilla Ice cream with Hot Chocolate. Pour the hot chocolate over the vanilla ice-cream and you will get a coat of hardened chocolate on top of the ice cream. I pretty much liked this idea of the dessert. It was a simple dessert but quite fun to see make chocolate patterns on it.
Overall, we had a great meatless dining experience at Sufood! I would recommend skeptics of meatless dining to try out new vegetarian eateries in Singapore that are like Sufood that are breaking out of the stereotypes of how vegetarian food are like.
