Full review - http://midas400.blogspot.com/2016/03/waffles-with-unique-flavors-at-cold.htmlI've been bugging my sistas to go try the delish looking waffles at The Cold Pantry ever since I saw photos of the waffles with towering charcoal ice cream sitting on a cookie. Finally we decided to meet up just before they start getting busy with CNY preps. The tiny waffle & ice cream eatery is located about 5-6mins on foot from the Farrer Park MRT on NEL.Simple menu with Waffles and Ice cream on one side and Coffee and tea on the other. Nothing fancy, but they do create their own unique flavors of waffles and homemade ice cream. All prices are NETT, no GST and service charge. We ordered their best seller Iced Thai Milk Tea $5.00 per bottle. This drink was really nice with pretty authentic Thai milk tea flavor and yet not overly sweet. Recommended. Our party of 3 ladies and 2 kids ordered 2 specialty waffles for adults to share, and 1 regular flavored one for the kids.Chocolate Root Beer $12.50, chocolate waffles served with Charcoal vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate Root beer sauce. The waffle tasted heavenly with light crisp on the exterior and airy fluffy soft center. The root beer sauce was really unique and matches perfectly with the waffle and the charcoal ice cream. We were very impressed!Pink Velvet $14.00, rose flavored waffles served with Lychee ice cream and sprinkled with lychee bits & fruit loops. The waffle again surprises with its lovely rose fragrance and heavenly texture. The lychee flavored ice cream was also an excellent pairing to the rose waffle. Thumbs up.Chocolate Indulgence $14.00, waffle served with Chocolate ice cream and Hershey's chocolate sauce, and topped with a variety of chocolaty confectioneries. The ice cream and sauce was very well received too.All the ice cream towers are sitting on a chocolate chip cookie, a brilliant way to support the weight, and also to prevent the crispy and warm waffle from getting soggy and melting away the ice cream prematurely. We really love the waffles and ice cream here and would definitely be back to try more flavors in the future! continue reading

Amid the stretch of bustling cafes along the rangoon road sits The Cold Pantry prominently known for their Root Beer Waffles. Limited seatings with unpretentious simple decoration of the cafe which brilliantly re-direct the consumer’s focus to their desserts.Concise and sweet menu filled with soft serve ice cream, soft serve frozen yoghurt and not forgetting their signature waffles! I’m so excited that i finally get to lay my hands on them!As we were pretty full from our lunch and there’s limited food we could stomach in, we decided to just go for their Chocolate Root Beer ($12.50). Dense with crispy edges chocolate root beer waffle that sizzle a little fizziness of the root beer. A delish and unique piece of art. Charcoal vanilla is a little plain jane, but i guess that’s how it complements well with the more intensified flavored waffle. The addition of a chocolate chip cookie greatly enhances the overall taste and chocolaty note of the dessert. I’ll be back to try their Cha Yen Soft Serve!https://poohlovesfood.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/the-cold-pantry/ continue reading

Situated along Rangoon road, there is this small shop, The Cold Pantry, selling frozen yogurt. When I stepped into the shop, the light colors they used in their shop brighten up my day I was greeted a very warm welcome by 3 ladies in the shop, I believed one of them is the creator of The Cold Pantry. The menu was passed to me quickly and for my first glance, I saw this exciting combi "Movie date" which consists of popcorn & nachos !! I immediately chose it My younger brother chose the "Dark Desire" as he is nuts over chocolate! It took quite awhile for our frozen yogurt to be served so I went round the shop taking photos. There are props provided too to let customers take fun shots within their shop premises. After our yogurt is served, I immediately scooped all the way to the bottom of the glass, where I could taste nachos, frozen yogurt & popcorn all in 1 mouthful. The "Movie date" combi was surprising yummy & fun! The "Dark Desire" combi wasn't as fantastic as the "Movie date", as Oreos + Pound cake combi didn't spark off but my younger brother still loves it because he said its very choco-licious! Lol Both cups are $5.90 each.Definitely we will come back for 2nd round as there are other interesting combi on the menu! Stay tune for more updates on my page continue reading
