Balestier is full of food places and not to mention there are many stores just selling Tau Sar Piah alone. I have been told that this particular store "House of Tau Sar Piah" is an old family business, so I decided to give it a try.The normal Sweet & Salty Tau Sar Piahs are just average, but I really enjoyed the Red Bean one ($0.60). It was not too sweet nor too oily. I might just go back for more. continue reading

There are many shops selling this traditional snacks along Balestier Road, and this might not be the most famous shops but i have been visiting them quite often. You can choose from the salted paste or the sweet paste and both are equally nice. I love the fluffy and light crust and it is especially good if you have it together with a nice cup of coffee for afternoon break or maybe good for breakfast too. So, if you do not like to queue like myself then maybe this is a better shop as compared to the most famous one with equally good standard but no queue. Highly recommendable. continue reading
