Today is Yuan Xiao Jie, I had Yu Sheng with the colleagues. We ordered 18 boxes of Yu Sheng. The Yu Sheng was wrapped as though the ingredient had packed for many days. The fish platter was thin salmon fish. After the ingredients had added, everyone tossed the Yu Sheng. I had one serving. The taste was not great. There was lack of sweetness. The plum sauce was not sufficient. Oil was served in the Yu Sheng and also provided small bottle. The Yu Sheng was not great. continue reading

Company decided to be nice and cater food for its employees today. The catered food from Elsie's Kitchen however was so-so. The vegetables were really tasteless after being mass-cooked. It was completely too soggy and too much moisture. The fried stuff was also very unhealthy and tasteless. The sausage was too artificial whereas the fried ngoh hiang had too much base ingredients rather than the shrimp taste that should have been inside. continue reading

Today attending an event at The Grassroot Club. The dinner is a buffet by this caterer. The spread consists of fried noodles and fried rice, stirred- fried green leafy vegetables, braised cabbage, deep-fried shrimp bombs, curry chicken, spring onion fish, assorted tarts and Pulut hitam (black glutinous rice porridge), with cold fruit punch and hot coffee and tea. The noodles is very soft and dry. The vegetables are well done dishes. The chicken in the curry is very tender. The tarts are just average. The Pulut hitam is a well made dessert and very warm especially in a cold room. I finish off the meal with a cup of hot tea which is tasteless, don't know is it because I have taken too much Pulut hitam. continue reading
