I had eaten this quite some time back and according to my memory, it was a rather tasty plate of chicken rice. This time round when I tried it, the chicken rice standard seemed to be going downwards. The rice was not fragrant enough and the chicken was a tad oily but still acceptable. Overall, it was an average tasting chicken rice.Price $3. continue reading

I ordered a plate of chicken plus one braised egg from Xing Yun Hainanese Chicken rice for sharing with my wife. I thought it is quite special that this stall uses tomatoes as the "garnishing" instead of cucumber. The chicken here is really tender and soft. The chicken skin is quite bouncy and has a very springy texture which I love. THe gravy here is not too saltish and it helps to enhance the taste of the chicken. The chili here is also very nice, not too spicy and if you can take chili, I will recommend that you dip the chicken into the chili for a better taste. Lastly, the rice. I personally quite like the rice here as it is not too oily and yet still very fragrant. Overall, I enjoy the food and will be back. I can't really remember the price but it is around $10 for the both of us. continue reading

This is not the best chicken rice i had ever eaten in my life, but it is still acceptable. I added gizzard to my plate of chicken rice as they were running out of eggs. The gizzard was normal, not very fantastic. One special thing about this dish is they added tomato to the customers instead of cucumber. Honestly, i had got no preference between those two, so i doesn't matter to me at all. The hawker centre was quite warm, so it is more recommended to take the outside seat. continue reading

My hubby and I went here for lunch and we ordered a plate of chicken and also two bowls of rice to share. The queue was quite long being on a weekend and estimated waiting time is around 15minutes. The rice is very well done, flavourful enough and yet not overly saltish. It is not clumpy at all, and each grain of rice is distinct. The chicken is also quite tender and delicious with the dash of sesame oil and the chilli provided. continue reading

My mum was in the area nearby for a medical appointment and upon hearing a recommendation from a old resident in the area, she decided to order takeaway from this stall, and there was a long queue.I query her on the location and realized its from this stall! She brought it home and I have a chance to sample the chicken rice.I have tried the chicken rice and the chicken is only so-so, quite ordinary. However, the rice is not oily at all and it's not lumped together, meaning it's well-separated, giving it a nice texture as you chew and swallow.I think it's worth a try if you are in the area. continue reading
