Almost the only seafood restaurant on Pulau Ubin Island. It is akin to a typical "Zi Char" restaurant with ala carte dishes.Their black sauce Mee Goreng was good. Steamed Fish was very fresh. Stir-fried Tofu Beancurd on Egg served on a hot place was OK.Sambal Kang Kong tasted like any other normal ones from other "Zi Char" places back on mainland.Steamed prawns were very fresh.Verdict: Seafood was very fresh (as to be expected), and other dishes were normal. continue reading

I've read about the salted egg squid from this place, and as a fan of anything (most things) salted egg, I had to try it from here. Indeed, it was extremely flavourful as the gravy was very thick and salted egg taste distinct and striking - also like that the gravy is a little creamy and goes well with rice. Their kang kong on the other hand is rather average, so do go for the salted egg squid. continue reading

After burning in the hot sun for a few hours, we decided to start our early dinner. This was what we had a 4+pm. I had wanted to try another restaurant which I had been before, but my partner decided to go for this one because it was closest to where we were having our coconut juice.A must have in all our seafood meal is the kang kong. It was really crispy and fresh. As it was a super hot day, we decided to go some soup with 'cooling' effect. So we had the bittergaurd and egg soup. This fried chicken wings is super. Have to eat it hot though coz it's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.The last dish served up was the black pepper prawns. I have had black pepper steak, black pepper crab and black pepper almost everything else but not black pepper prawns. I find the taste a little too sweet for me but my partner loves it.On the whole, it was good value for money. We paid only about $40 for all these plus drinks. continue reading

Last few weeks ago, my club had organised a trip to pulau ubin. I enjoyed the trip very much. We rented some bicycles and cycling every where. The scenery of pulau ubin is nice. I hope i have a chance to go there again.After cycling, we felt very hungry. My friend suggested to eat at this restaurant. I ordered the "hor fun". It tasted quite nice but a little bit too salty. continue reading
