Signature Dishes
Pork Satay was the main reason why we had chosen Bee Heng's Satay among all other stalls and just right Bee Heng was located nearby to where we were dining. Order 5 sticks of Pork, 5 Muttons and 5 Chicken Satay with Ketupat which cost $9.60 altogether. Served in all disposable plates and bowls with cut cucumber added. Stay away from the piece of pork lard that is skewered alternatively with the meat if you are health conscious. Each of the skewered meat has a combination of smoky flavour and tender meat coupled with 2 bowls of satay dipping sauce. For the mutton, if you are worry of the nature smell of the mutton, it was not so distinctive than I had thought. Overall, the quality and taste was quite consistent throughout. The ketupat (Rice Cake) was well-made, soften and goes well with the satay sauce. It's a stomach filler if you are skipping your main course.The satay was run-of-the-mill. Size of Satay had shrunken a lot these years with price increasing due to inflation. Still missing the good old times where the size was 2 times bigger than what we have now.

The popiah stall here is pretty well known. However I was not very impressed with the popiah. The skin was slightly dried out and wasn't very chewy like how I normally like my popiah. The radish filling was sufficiently tasty and juicy; however too little radish filling was given such that the popiah was so tiny. There were not much crunchy bits too which is my favorite part of eating popiah! This stall sells solely popiah and the waiting time was pretty quick of about 5 minutes.

This popiah stall seems rather well known for its popiah. However I felt that the popiah was average at best. The popiah was rather pricey at $1.80 per roll and the minimum order is two rolls of popiah. The popiah is also very small in size and is not chock full of ingredients as a like my popiah to be. Overall very average and mediocre, and there is nothing special in terms of the taste.
