My colleague recommended this interesting chillout place, Aust Wine @ Farm Mart near the West / North-west area, so I decided to give it a shot this weekend. Farm Mart is, by the way, a rather huge area comprising of coffee shop stalls, tables for dining, and rows of pet shops, fresh eggs wholesalers and geomancers.Offering a relaxing ambience for both indoor dining and breezy alfresco dining, Aust Wine is frequented by families, couples and groups of young friends all enjoying drinks and good food on an unhurried Saturday evening. The service is rather good, and they don't even charge service charge for such efficiency and politeness! We dined outdoors, letting the kiss of the winds and sounds of nature set the ambience for a fun dinner. We had the Popcorn Chicken was served. Note that we only ordered this item as a before-meal munchy because the main course we ordered would take 30 minutes to prepare, so I thought of having something to chew on while waiting. The popcorn chicken were served in bite sizes, and the outside was crispy while inside, rather tender. The main course was the Pork Knuckle - served with lots of sides such as potato wedges, carrot sticks, sweet corn, brocooli and fresh lettuce platter. The pork knuckle was very crispy on the outside (the skin) and the flesh was quite tender; it was very easy to cut, and was not too salty. The potato wedges were scrumtiously crispy, and I enjoyed the sweet crisps of the fresh vegetables accompaniments. For more detailed information and photos, do pop by:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/02/dinner-at-aust-wine-farm-mart.html continue reading

Located amidst the quaint vicinity within Farmart, this humble little cafe is a perfect weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Diners can choose between the al fresco dining area which overlooks the surrounding lush greenery or the air-conditioned indoors area for a more comfortable dining experience. This is one of the few places (if not the only one) where their Tenderloin is cheaper than the Ribeye! And without a doubt, we ordered their Beef Tenderloin ($22+) set. The beef was fresh and well grilled, period. Simple, down-to-earth fuss-free dining that reflects the rustic atmosphere surrounding this cafe. They serve mostly western cuisine but you could also order in satay/bbq chicken wings from the zi char stall located just next to it. continue reading

We have been here several times, mostly for dinner. The environment is outdoor with greenery views overlooking the farm. It is cool and relaxing. The food on the menu will not create a big hole in your wallet. Most of them cost around 10-20 dollars. The cafe also sell Australian wines and beer.Tonight we ordered the baked rice and dory+prawns.Sausage baked rice is topped with plenty of cheese, flavorful. The sausages is a bit crunchy on the skin (reminds me of taiwan sausages) and the portion of it is generous. The dory and prawns served with wedges is nicely done up too. The prawns is processed in a way the texture is crunchy. The dory fish batter taste good too.We upgraded the meals with a soup and a drink. We had the flavored fruit tea. I find the passion fruit tea super aromatic and tasty.will be back for more. continue reading

My relatives told me that the food in Aust Wine at Farmart are really nice and not expensive so I decided to eat there that day.Ordered the Vegetarian Spaghetti with Pesto Sauce for $10, didn't expect to find something so cheap at such fancy place! The waiting time for the dish was about 15 minutes, service was really efficient and great. The waiters and waitresses were polite as well. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic date, as the environment was dark and comfortable. The place was surrounded with real plants, soft musics were played. The spaghetti I ordered was really healthy, not oily with lots of veggies. The dish was also fragrant and a little salty to add some flavour to the dish.Very satisfied with this meal! continue reading
