I was hungry and happen to be at Ang Mo Kio central so i drop by the S-11 coffee shop to grab something to eat. I decided to order the rice from Qi Le Roasted Mean & Noodles stall as the roast meat looks nice. I ordered a plate of char siew rice to try. The char siew meat is quite nice but the sauce is a bit sweet. The rice is cooked perfectly and does not stick together.

The char siew rice itself is $3.50 and $5.00 if it is with roasted meat. That is definitely expensive for such mediocre standard. As i was really hungry on that day hence i left with no choice but to go ahead to order it. I refused to pay $5.00 for the char siew & roasted meat rice so ended up ordering the char siew rice for $3.50.I was there at about 2pm on that day. The assistant was standing right outside the stall awaiting for customers.I was served immediately and gotten my plate of char siew the next moment. I helped myself to the chilli. The assistant realised there was no more spoon left and he went over to the next stall and back with a pair of fork & spoon. He did that without me asking for it so that effort is definitely commendable. The char siew tasted average and a little on the sweet side. The sauce itself was lacking in flavor. The soup that served along with the rice tasted pretty bland. I am quite definite this is going to be an one time off experience. I am able to get a good plate of char siew and roasted meat rice for only $3.00 right across the road at the coffee shop next to the block where my Grandpa is staying.

One of my favorite dish will be the roast duck mixed char siew rice. Environment is quite clean and service is average.The rice given was decent together with roast duck & char siew, drizzled with dark rich gravy which simply irresistible (request for more gravy sauce for better taste).The char siew has slightly burnt taste with sweetness but taste awesome. The duck meat is soft but well-roasted duck skin. The soup tasted average. overall: great meal i had here
