while we wait. it's been a while dining out at amk hub.we had duck of course. and soup. but what i liked was this.i love the mushrooms, the fresh spring greens, and the slices of fish.the sauce though, was just too salty.i like it. if you're asking me, i'd prefer this to the one at soup restaurant.the prices are competitive and for us, it's simple, whichever one we feel like queueing for that day.these two get loads of business every weekend continue reading

The FoodWhen u mentioned Dian Xiao Er to anyone, the 1st thing that came to their mind will be their house speciality herbal duck. The roast duck is available in three flavours: Angelica herb, Ten Wonder herbs and wild ginseng. I ordered the herbal roast duck with wild ginseng, which boasts a layer of crispy skin and tender duck meat infused with herbs. The wild ginseng is not so strong smell hence still can taste the roasted duck flavour. The ServiceEven though I went on Monday evening, the restaurant was quite crowded but was immediately ushered to our table promptly once the seats are available. The waitresses were friendly and approachable too.The AmbienceOne special thing about the decor and surroundings are the tables and chairs looked like the ancient guesthouses which is quite a special experience. The PriceReasonably priced at $25.90 for medium size with ginseng herbsOverallI will definitely come back again to try the other 2 flavours and highly recommended to try this for all herbal duck lovers !! continue reading

Dian Xiao Er is famous for it's duck, of course we gonna have a try, but on the day we went the duck is finished and need to wait for about 20minutes so we didnt order it in the end.winter melon soup with porkThe soup makes me feel so homesick because usually i get to drink this kind of chinese soup in my home, cooked by my mom. The soup is not too oily, the broth is sweet and not too salty which i like it.Fried mix veggieI like the gravy of the veggie that is absorbed by the fried beehoon around the veggie which gives some taste to the crispy edible container. For the vege, i like the nutty texture added to it which gives me something crunchy to chew on.seafood tofu claypotThe portion is quite large, there are quite a lot of tofu and mushroom and other veggie and the gravy is nice too. I think it is a great dish for children as it is not spicy and they can mix the gravy to the rice. continue reading

The top one is hotplate tofu and the right one is fried baby romaine lettuce. The hotplate tofu is very very salty. I need to take plenty of rice to mix with the gravy. The minced meat is salty, otherwise the Tony is smooth and silky.I like this fried baby romaine lettuce. They stir fried it with red fermented bean curd and some chilling. This dish is slightly spicy but still acceptable. I like the crispy of the vegetables. continue reading

i went to dian xiao er with my mum and sis, we were feeling hungry so we ordered quite a number of dishes. we ordered the ma po tou fu, braised mushroom in chinese wine, seafood fried rice with xo sauce, marmite superior chicken wing and their signature duck roasted with ten wonder herb.Their ma po tou fu is really spicy but goes really well with rice, despite the mind blowing hotness, it still makes you wanna keep eating. The braised mushroom in chinese wine is very. The fried rice is really fragrant due to the XO sauce. they added very fresh seafood to the dish, really delicious. everything else is really delicious as well. continue reading
