I had a craving for sushi so I decided to drop by NTUC to get some sushi. Sushi were not exactly fresh but I did not have much expectations since it was from NTUC. Given its relatively cheap and affordable price, the quality is acceptable. The tuna sushi was too wet. The salmon sashimi had a taste that was not like the usual sashimi I had at other places but it still tasted edible. continue reading

My mummy bought some sushi home, she bought them from sushi deli. I was not too hungry was just felt like snacking something so I took one piece from her. Out of the sushis, I chose a flavor I have not tried before from sushi deli which was the tuna mayo one. I like their tuna mayo topping, unlike other sushi shops, they got mixed minced cucumber with the tuna so the sushi has different layer of texture, crunchiness from the cucumber, soft tuna mayo and chewy Japanese rice. one piece of sushi only cost 70 cents which was pretty cheap. continue reading

Went grocery shopping with my mum at Yew Tee Point in the afternoon at NTUC. Feeling a slight peckish, i suggested buying a box of sushi to share with my family at home for teaI have always wanted to try out this shop's sushi! Now, armed with a box of delightful mixed sushi only for a price of $5.60, we headed home for tea. I took my first bite out of the sushi that was wrapped in seaweed, filled with a mix of tamago, crabstick and cucumber, topped with red fish egg roes. The rice was chewy, quite a lot..the tamago (egg) was sweet, cucumber was crunchy, crabstick was crabstick, fish roe was too small to taste...Ingredients were quite average. The only disappointing thing was the seaweed which was too tough and i trouble trying to chew it, took a looong timeI believe trying out this mixed sushi (the above as descripted) can help me get a first impression of the taste of the ingredients for the rest of the sushi in the box..I would recommend the tamago and crabstick sushi cuz i prefer egg and crabstickOverall, Sushi Deli's sushi can be a great convenient snack for tea as there would be offers on the boxed sushi sometimes. Do check it out!Rating: 7.5/10 continue reading

I happened to pop by yew tee point and decided to grab a bite from sushi deli. Nowadays there are not many sushi kiosk around, I am pretty lucky to find one near me. I got the crabmeat mayo, dried prawn, jellyfish and grilled tuna mayo. I think the grilled tuna mayo was pretty good, it had a lot of chopped cucumbers in it, the tuna did not taste any different from the normal kinds. The jellyfish sushi was not too bad, the jellyfish was very chewy but I think they should cut it up to smaller pieces. Their jellyfish was well seasoned. The crabmeat mayo sushi was not too bad, the mayo made it very refreshing. The dried prawns one was rather unique, a local flavour. The sushi here were not too bad. continue reading

Such takeaway joints are convenient means of getting sushi without the additional service charge and GST that will be imposed whenever you dine in at a restaurant. I got three sushi for myself, the raw salmon sushi, crabmeat mayo sushi and the seasoned jellyfish sushi. Of the lot, I enjoyed the salmon sushi most since the salmon is quite fresh and is quite large. The crabmeat mayo is also nice with a very nice balance of mayo added to season the crabstick. Prices are quite affordable as well, with the most expensive being the salmon sushi. The rest mostly range from 70cents. continue reading
