I never realized that Choa Chu Kang had such nice food! From the simply Baker Talent which is cheap and good to the ananas cafe which serve $2 chicken rice, this can be considered a small food haven to diners!Further down the mrt station that's outside a jewellery shop is Pie Kia (a cheeky pun! haha!). As I walk through the place, I could smell the freshly baked pies! It seems to get sold out pretty quickly as they have a promotion now (buy 5 get 1 free). I guess this makes it faster to clear too. I got 3 different flavours, 2 of the same thing each. Ham and cheese, black pepper chicken and roasted chicken. They all more or less tasted the same but they were all really good! I like that the filling stays intact and not drop all over the place even though you've bit into it. The crust was also flaky and crispy. If you eat it immediately, the filling inside is still very hot! It's definitely good for breakfast as it's not too heavy but you still get to fill your stomach with these little pies! continue reading

When you walk past this little shop at the train station, you will always smell a whiff of their freshly-baked pies. The smell simply engulfs you as you step into the shop and you can't help but buy one of their pies. I got the Black Pepper Chicken Pie ($1.30). It was slightly burnt at one side as you can see from the picture. However, the filling was wonderful. The black pepper gravy did not ooze out of the pie but it was nicely integrated into the chicken. If you buy 5 pies, you even get one free. This makes for a delightful mid-day snack and it is not oily. The best part is that it is halal so our Muslim friends can enjoy this too! continue reading

My friend introduce me to PIe Kia, I didn't heard before and it is my first time trying it. Went there to get my breakfast. The shop were small, when I stepped in the smell of the pie was great. The display of the pie makes me mouth-watering. I tired the black pepper chicken and baked puff, it was sooo good! The price was really affordable... Will go back to the shop again and again. continue reading

Nice puffs I ate yesterday! We saw it going on promotion where 2 cost only $1.50, so we bought it.The puffs we bought are the curry chicken flavour. It smells nice and the puffs are crispy even though we didn’t consume it immediately after we bought it.The curry are not too spicy and I felt that the taste are just rightI also saw the other pies they have there and got attracted by the roasted chicken and the chicken ham and cheese flavour. Definitely worth the buy, $1 per pie/puffs. (: continue reading

Pies pies pies.... Pie Kia is a one stop shop where u can find all kinds of pies, sweet or savory , big or small. This is an ideal place to purchase an afternoon snack. the pies are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. they have the normal kinds like curry chicken, mushroom chicken, sardine and black pepper chicken. However, they have quite innovative invention of the lemon fish pie. thought the sour taste of the lemon will contrast with the pastry however it really blends in well. yummy!the sweet pies on the other hands are very unique, imagine mango and pear filling or dragonfruit and jackfruit filling, two contrasting fruits. However it does taste unique, something different from the normal kinds of pies. However, the price does seem a little higher than norm. but it is indeed worth the money for something new... continue reading
