My family went to Starz for their lunch buffet after we went to the S.E.A aquarium. I think the buffet spread was so so and the selection was quite limited. The seafood selection had oyster and they had a sashimi spread too. They also had drunken prawn and other cooked local food like laksa. The desserts was also disappointing. But the refill of the dishes was really slow. For the same price, there are better buffets as they lack a main 'attraction' to remember them by. Since it is just a regular hotel buffet, I think there are better buffets to go to with the same price. continue reading

Went to USS for a day of family fun and decided to dine at Starz Restaurant again for buffet dinner! Was here the previous year too and we really enjoyed the vast variety of food so we visited again. However, the second visit was a disappointment as the variety of food types reduced greatly and my favourite dish, the fresh oysters, were out and the cooks refused to refill it. The time was only 8pm and only one hour into the buffet dinner which ends at 10pm. We ewre rather disappointed and requested to see the manager as many other food types were also not being refilled. Manager was very flexible with it and apologized to us and gave us one whole plate of oysters (almost 30) and cooked a special dish of clams for us. He also order one whole pizza from Palio's House I believe and he drove all the way to collect it and serve it to us hot. He also made us some drinks free-of-charge. Although the initial visit was unpleasant, he made it a very wonderful experience (and guilty) for us. The photo above depicts the plate of clams he served us specially, which we almost couldn't finish because he gave us two big bowls! Ambience was really nice too with really great decorations around the restaurant. PS: We might have been blacklisted! continue reading

My gf and I decided to have lunch buffet at Starz restaurant after we checked out of the amazing Hard Rock Hotel. The ambiance is quiet and good for a couple dates who want to avoid the large crowds at the restaurants near the casino and Universal Studios. The food choices are quite plentiful, but not a wide spread of choices. Service is prompt, as the waitress would initiate to serve you coffee or tea when they noticed that you are finishing your desserts. The drunken prawns in soup is delicious and freshly cooked on the spot. The wagyu mini burgers must not be missed either. Fresh seafood choices are plentiful, with snow crabs, prawns, mussels We also like the cold dessert- barley soup. Good for your stomach after having a hearty buffet. continue reading

As I had a good experience during my previous visit to this restaurant, I decided to have breakfast here again, despite staying at Hotel Michael (instead of Hard Rock Hotel). Tried a few things which I didn't get to try during my previous visit, which include the fish congee and the banana crunch cereal with lychee (first picture). Though there isn't much fish slices in the fish congee, it is quite tasty. Personally, I love eating it together with the cooked peanuts. Yumz! As for the banana crunch cereal, I added lychees to it and it tastes great too! continue reading

First impression of this restaurant is very 'high-end' design and nicely decorated with a very cosy feel. Great venue for business lunch and romantic place for couples. The range of foods here are not really wide, but the quality of the foods are up to standard. Like there roasted pork and western noodles. The staffs here are also friendly and approachable. Was happy to know that they have gelato served in their buffet spread as well. The waffles are made upon order to ensure the freshess is well maintain. However the coffee and drinks may still needs some rooms for improvement. continue reading
