Situated in the midst of Joo Chiat is Smokey's BBQ, a bistro bar that serves authentic American food. Vouched to serve true American flavours, Smokey's BBQ pays careful attention to details in mixing their own BBQ sauce, dressings, seasonings and even importing wood chips from USA making the flavors unique to Smokey’s.People with above average appetite will find the Pulled Pork Sandwich satisfying. Living up to their reputation, there was a unique smokey flavour infused into the meat.Unfortunately, the meat was so dry that I could use double portion of their BBQ sauce instead.James had the Grandpa's Joe Backyard Burger ($22) that was served with a thick and juicy beef patty. Despite that, I find the price simply unjustifiable. Here it is, our 6 pathetic pieces of disjointed wings instead of 6 full wings. Stated as "fried jumbo wings" in the menu, we were utterly disgusted by the sheer portion. On top of that, it wasn't that crispy. Hot sauce was also scrimped and I was informed that it will cost $1.50 for another portion of sauce. Thankfully they came to their senses and offered the sauce FOC.Total bill mounted up to $60 for these three dishes. It was an experience and I hope you find this review useful.More pics and thoughts http://lepakwithyaops.com/smokeys-bbq-american-smokehouse-grill-fare-at-joo-chiat-road continue reading

If you're craving some barbecued food, Smokey's BBQ is one place you might want to consider. I shared a serving of barbecued pork ribs and a portion of salmon sliders with my friend. The salmon sliders were fantastic. It was well marinated and went really well with the buns. The meat from the barbecued ribs was very tender, and the sauce complimented the meat very well. On the whole, the food was good and the portions were huge! continue reading

Smoked US Prime Beef Brisket S$25Marinated in ABC Extra Stout, smoked and slow roasted for over 20+ hours, topped with home made BBQ sauce. The long hour simmering managed to make the slices of beef brisket extremely tender. The original smokey taste from the beef brisket was further enhanced by the restaurant's home-made sauce. Perhaps I prefer slightly more rawness in beef, so I thought the beef brisket was a little dry. Nonetheless, it can be easily complemented with their sweet tangy home-made BBQ sauce. Smoked Baby Back Ribs Half Slab $25Within the succulent meat with alluring smokey bbq taste are huge chunks of beef cartilage. If you like cartilage, good for you! Nonetheless, the homemade BBQ sauce and their dry rub seasoning made this a very satisfying dinner for a carnivorous lover. continue reading

This is one place you should avoid if the weather is very humid. The entire place is not air-conditioned at all. However, they serve a wide variety of beer. Good for cooling down. Their specialty is pork ribs. The portions are really big. We had the St Louis Pork ribs. A little sweet for my liking but generally, its still quite acceptable. I like the fries though. Very fat and salty. The disadvantage of this place is the lack of parking space. continue reading
