First time trying out this home styled Italian restaurant. Our orders:1) Hot Chocolate - $5.90Nice chocolate drink that was not too sweet. =)2) Foccacia - On the houseComplimentary bread, with nice herb fragrance with crispy crust.3) Grilled Italian Sausages - $9.80Oooo, me & bf liked this! This was actually "bangers and mash" served in another manner - the sausages were sliced for our convenience and the mash potato acted as the dipping instead. Cool. Both were good to eat on their own, especially the mash potato ~ nice & creamy. The sausages tasted like salami, slightly spicy but tolerable. We finished the dish in no time.4) Smoked Duck Pizza - $23.80This was slightly disappointing. Okay, the crust was crispy alright, the smoked duck was great & the vege were refreshing. Then again, this was just salad placed on top of the crust, with no cheese. Pizza with no cheese at all? It just didnt seem quite right! The crust without the cheese, just tasted like biscuit & flour, nothing spectacular. Therefore, I felt that this was a little overpriced. Definitely not my choice next time.5) Tiramisu - $12.90Finally, tiramisu to end off the dinner with a sweet note. The serving was big, so be prepared to leave some stomach room hor.Btw, all prices are inclusive of GST! You pay what you see on the menu, coolz~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~**~**~*~**~**~ *~**~*~*~*~*~To read more and view photos, please click herehttp://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2012/07/villa-di-parma.html continue reading

Villa Di Parma is a Italian restaurant with a very cozy and comfortable ambience. The food is also reasonably priced with their quality. Love the ambience! We had red graph and apple sparkling juice and it is poured into wine glasses which make it look more presentable.2 slices of bread was served with olive and balsamic dip. Not really used to the taste of the dip. Smoked salmon pizza!! This is the bomb. The salmon is nicely seasoned and flavored. Very fresh and the taste still lingers in your mouth after eating. this is my first time eating smoke salmon pizza and it taste really good. thumbs up!CoffeeLove the way they presented those sugar cubes to us. The little white pot makes it look more sophisticated. last not but least, tiramisu! I really like the texture of the cake, not too thick. The cream is light and yummy. One of the best tiramisu that i had before.Overall, it is a very pleasant experience dining here. The staffs here are very friendly too continue reading

Ristorante De Parma is a small Italian run family restuarant in Serangoon Gardens( opp the country club). It was a re-visit for me as I have been here to try the Tiramisu, about 2 yrs ago. I want to check if it was still as yummy as ever or standard has dropped. They offer 3 different set lunch – The 5 course executive, executive and the Value. The pizzas are priced at $12.90 on Tuesday night only! The Smoked salmon pizza is highly recommended. Well, I came here for the purpose of trying the Tiramisu. Foccacia Bread 2 slices of foccacia served Lukewarm with olive and balsamic dip. I didn’t like the bread it was kinda dry. Insalata Di Portobello ($14.90++) This is the Portobello mushroom salad highly recommended by some of the HGW foodies. Indeed the portobello mushroom was huge and JUICY! The juice from the mushroom just burst out when I bite in it. The only downside is there was too little greens. (meslcun salad)Spaghetti con Pro cuitto e Funghi tossed with parma ham & field mushroom ($21.80++) Mum’s spaghetti in aglio aglio style. The pasta is al-dente but Mum feels that it was a little rough and difficult to chew. The pasta is also quite dry. We gave our feedback and they told us it was done in a drier version so that we could enjoy the natural taste of pasta. Tagliolini seppia nero con Aragostine ($25.80++) My pasta was the Tagliolini squid ink pasta with slipper lobster and tomatoes in homemade tomato sauce. It looks lovely, with the black-coloured Tagliolini pasta. They were quite generous with the slipper lobsters and they were so firm and bouncy. At first I thought my teeth would be stained black after having the Squid ink pasta but there was no obvious sign of any staining. I realised that only pasta cooked in squid ink sauce would stain my teeth. The black-coloured Tagliolini pasta is very smooth, just the way I like it and the homemade tomato sauce taste very fresh, with lots of tomatoes . Thumbs up! Tiramisu ($12.90++) Here comes the star of the show! Don’t leave RDP without trying it’s fantastic Tiramisu. It was one of the Best that I have tried so far. The proportion of liquor and mascapone cheese is well-balanced. I like the wetter version of Tiramisu, rum soaked lady’s finger and Kahlua. IMO, I still prefer the Tiramisu which I had about 2 yrs ago, which is slightly wetter.( Individuals have their own preference of Tiramisu). Neverthless, the Tiramisu is still as fantastic as ever, which Mom and I licked the plate clean.Overall verdict: I am most willing to travel all the way to Serangoon Gardens to curb my Tiramisu fix. Their Tiramisu is one of best that I have ever tried. I would probably go back again for the Pizzas! continue reading
