Anyway, heard that Peach Gardens was awesome, so decided to give it a shot, since the flagship branch is near our place. To quote from its website, simply apt, "a culinary sanctuary where connoisseurs of traditional Cantonese cuisine can gather in celebration of exquisite dining and fine living".While waiting, we were served a platter of Prawn Crackers - the Chinese equivalanet of Amuse Bouche aka bread basket one gets before the meals were served. We started off with some light dimsum items like Custard Buns - warm, sweet custard oozing out of smooth buns. Loved them. The Crab-Roe Siew Mai were fresh and scrumptious as well, with tender minced pork within the yellow silken dumpling skins. Our Peking Duck Wrapped in Crepes came next. I especially loved this dish because of the crispiness of the delicious duck skin within, coupled with the soft, sweet, slightly-sandy texture of the crepe skins .. the blend is just amazing. For more detailed information and photos, do pop by:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/01/lunch-at-peach-gardens-novena-gardens.html continue reading

Due to the festive season, the company receives many boxes of mooncakes from vendors. One of the boxes of mooncakes from Peach Garden restaurant. Peach Garden is a restaurant under the Select chain of eateries. The mooncake tastes abit too sweet for me. I like the crunchy texture of the melon seeds in the lotus paste. The egg yolk is tended to found at one end of the mooncake, which shows the skills of the chef is still not very good. continue reading

Peach Garden has relatively good dim sum from my previous dining experiences. I've tried a few of their dim sum before, like their ribs, glutinous rice with chicken, etc. This time, I particularly liked their pan fried carrot cake - pan fried till crispy on the outside, and there were many dried shrimps added within the carrot cake, wasn't too oily as well. I also liked the fried shrimp fritters - the shrimps were very crunchy. Didn't really like the bo lo bao though - char siew within wasn't that nice. Dim sum costs around $3+ per plate on average. continue reading

As part of the mother day celebration, me and my family members decided to eat dim sum at peach garden. The style of ordering the dim sum is similar to those traditional dim sum stall whereby the staff will push the trolley which consist of different types of dim sum from steamed to deep fried type. Some of the dim sum that we ordered includes the bo luo bun, century egg porridge, deep fried yam and many more. Firstly, their bo luo bao is nicely made with a shiny golden brown colour. The top crust is slight sweet and has a slight crispy texture. As for the fillings wise, it consist of the char siew which is well marinate and has a soft and tender texture. Next the century egg porridge has a nice presentation with the generous amount of the crackers and spring onion as the garnish. As for the taste wise, it is not too overcooked, with a smooth texture. Lastly will be the deep fried yam which has a nice golden brown colour with a very crispy texture. The fillings wise is well seasoned and goes well with the outer layer. continue reading

i had a craving i just had to suffice and in the most unlikely of places, manage to find peach garden at Thomson that has weekend dim sum buffets at 3pm. But i didn't need the buffet, i just needed my pineapple TART! Their tart is amazingly buttery, biting into it was just pure heaven. Especially since it wasn't anytime near the lunar new year period but i was glad to taste such good pineapple tarts. The pineapple filling was sweet but not sickly so. i had three orders of this.oh yum! While you're at Peach Garden, do try out their soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. They look like massive pockets of stuffing in savoury soup. Skip the rice rolls though, they weren't very nice. Also, wait for the ice cream bells! they have cute bite sized ice cream sandwiches for that much needed sweet treat to end of your meal. continue reading
