recently addicted to ya kun kaya toast, always want to grab it for snack whenever i pass by any ya kun outlet. although the toasts are more expensive than those normal coffee shop, the bread and kaya spread are much better. actually bought their kaya spread before to try make kaya toast at home but somehow the taste is just not as good. also tried other type of toast such as the cheese and ice cream version but i think the standard kaya toast with butter is still the best =) continue reading

I was celebrating the birthday of one of my fiends and we all ordered coffee, kaya toast and half-boiled egg. It was an economical breakfast and we all love it! The half-boiled egg was very good and with a dash of pepper, it tasted even better! The kaya toast tasted splendid. It was very crisp and it melted in my mouth. The coffee is aromatic. The best thing is the coffee as it keeps me awake and help me to keep myself alert. I can then start the day afresh with a fabulous breakfast! continue reading

I am addicted to nice Kaya Toast. And Ya Kun is second to Killiney Rd original Kaya toast. We are usually in Orchard every weekend, so I'll get 2 serves of Kaya Toast - one at Killiney and one at Ya Kun. I am just so in love with Kaya Toast! All I want is Kaya Toast. The Takashimaya stall is a takeaway only as there are no seats. But they serve it to you hot, and the quality is consistent with all ther Ya Kun places. No complaints about the quality. It's drier than the Killiney one, and I relaly love the Killiney one, but the Ya Kun one is different - it's crispy brown. The important thing is the Kaya and the butter. Real butter only. And nicely melted. Not a cold hard slab like at some places. And the Kaya has to be very smooth, the right sweetness and taste like Kaya!It just makes my day to have good Kaya toast in the morning And they sell other stuff for lunch - local foods, which are great... But Killiney is still the best. In the even that I cannot get to Killiney, Ya Kun will do. But Ya Kun is more expensive than Killiney... the coffee quality is comparable to Killiney, but still Ya Kun charges more! continue reading
