I am back at one of my most favorite chilling out spots again, bringing *Katherine there for her birthday celebration, catching up and chilling out session. The Lantern Bar at Fullerton Bay Hotel has been an allure for me since the day it opened, and even until now it still appeals greatly to me. The views were still seductive, and the ambience was still alluring; the only thing I wish wouldn't remain consistent was the service (while polite, it was hard to get their attention no matter which part of Lantern we sat at).Food-wise, we began with the Truffle Potato Salad (SGD$12.00) which boosted of soft-boiled potato cubes tossed in truffle-infused dressing, tantalising the palate with its piquant aroma while the teeth made contact with the smooth potato cubes.Next, the Cajun Tuna Spring Rolls (SGD$24.00), served with togarashi aioli. We were expecting mashed tuna stuffings within the crackling spring roll skins, but we were very pleasantly surprised to discover entire slabs of smoked tuna texturized between sashimi and smoked fish. This was definitely a keeper for us.Finally, a Pizza Slab (SGD$31.00); we chose the one that comprised of forest mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, ricotta cheese and sprigs of fresh baby spinach. The crust was crispy and biscuit-like, the way I remember it, while the ingredients brought out all the various umami and sweet flavours naturally. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/05/dinner-drinks-at-lantern-bar-fullerton.html continue reading

Have you been here yet? The view is awesome. Day or night. Yes, I am bought over even before eating or drinking anything. For this dish, the bread was fluffy and warm when served. Beef was juicy and if you managed to chew straight down the burger, you will be surprised with a sudden soft crunch after the beef patty. that is the slice of beetroot.Overall taste was acceptable for me. Service was good. Rather attentive staff and they are smiling 80% of the time. continue reading

Located on the top level Fullerton Bay Hotel and overlooking the beautiful Marina Bay and its surrounding. Beside being able to see laser lights show from Marina Bay sands, you can also see fireworks during special occasion such as national day and F1 . On top of that, there is a swimming pool and jacuzzi pools here where occasionally you can see some tourists enjoying their swim or sun tanning here.Although I have read some comments online that Lantern has really bad service, I was actually impressed with their service. They were very attentive and helpful. I went there without any reservation. However the host was kind enough to locate a seat for me. On top of that I have a view whereby I can see the whole Marina Bay and nevertheless the beautiful fireworks.Beside that, the serving staff here were equally good. They even bother to check with me whether do I need another drink when my beer glass was almost empty. However they serve beer using plastic glass which is a bit turn off for me as I feel that beer in plastic glass is not as chilled.I have tried their aussie beef sliders with pickle beetroot and tobacco . Very interesting dish with yummy little bun that might have fried. Taste good with the onion rings , beet root , beef and cheese. Lovely dish but a bit messy and the beef is a bit too cooked for my liking.Overall it was a lovely experience at Lantern. I would strongly recommend this place for chill out and also for dating because of the beautiful night Marina Bay view on top of the orange dim lights that creates a very romantic ambiance. For more details, do visit my blog http://hannahchia.tumblr.com continue reading

I was here for a drink with my friend from overseas, ambience was great, and you'll have a great view of the Singapore skyline. They have a vast selection of drinks and small bites as well. I settled on Fresh Beginnings - great name, great drink. It has lychee, apple and lime juice, and cane syrup in the mixture; indeed a very refreshing drink and wasn't too sweet, perhaps due to the lime juice. continue reading

photos and more here: http://andmorefood.wordpress.com/2013/05/03/lantern-at-the-fullerton-bay-hotel-town/expensive drinks in a pretty roof-top bar above the gorgeous fullerton bay hotel. here’s one for the weekend – I’m not much of a drinker, and pretty much teetotaler in all. I do like going to beautiful places though, and when it gets dark, that usually means a bar or what not. the rooftop bit isn’t a misnomer so much as misleading: it isn’t very high up, and barely looks over the river over to marina bay sands, but it’s gorgeous – draped fabric ceilings, a large seating area with well-spaced tables, and a relaxed vibe about it all.it’s a quiet place – more of the post-work crowd sitting down to some really expensive drinks rather than the crotch-baring rambunctious bunch, and I like that. I also like the complimentary traditional battered peanuts they served here – you don’t get these very often.I can’t vouch for the quality of their drinks so much – I had a juice that came tall and much larger than you’d expect at these places – but the menu didn’t strike me as being particularly impressive or extensive. this place I think better serves as a convenient meet up with friends on a friday night. continue reading
