The service staff very friendly and welcoming. And I got a beef bowl student meal. Love the place with nice air con and not to many people. First time drinking sjora but it think its nice! Not too orangy and very easy on the tongue. The fries although the platter looks very unsmackering, it is actually very nice. A pity it got cold a bit too fast. The bowl is awesome as usual. But could do with more sauce. I was so sad that the chilli shaker thing is gone. Now we have to pay for these things. I love the thin slices of beef that they give, salty, but good enough to complement the rice. The texture is good in the mouth as well, not too chewy like some others but nicely dissolving. continue reading

Once a while I will go Yoshinoya for lunch or dinner and today I decide to buy back home for lunch. I usually will choose their teriyaki chicken and ebi rice set and since they are having this combo value meal now, I decide to buy that at $10.90 per set. This set consist of a combo rice set which you can choose which set you like and it also comes with a miso soup and soda. So my choice is teriyaki chicken and ebi set, miso soup and coke. The teriyaki chicken is nice and it goes well with their teriyaki sauce. Their ebi is fried till crispy. Both teriyaki chicken n ebi has different sauce and both sauce are nice. continue reading

I, my wife, and my daughter all ordered Yoshinoya Salmon Bowls for $5.8 each in Heartland Mall. When we ordered, we specifically said "no mayo" to cut the extra fat (we don't like mayo anyway), however when the waitress gave it to us, our bowls still come with mayo. So we said to her "we said that we didn't want mayo" and the waitress immediately took back our bowls without any complaints, so kudos for that. To our surprise, they make the dishes again from scratch instead of just scraping off the mayo like some other restaurants that we visited before, so more kudos for them, although this does make us wait twice as much longer, but at least they took our complaint seriously. The dish itself is nice since we can put chili as much as we like and I also add some pink gingers to add some more kick. The salmon is crispy and the vegetables is not too salty nor oily so I suppose it's quite a light and healthy dish that is very suitable when you don't want to eat too heavy before sleeping. continue reading

I passed by Yoshinoya at Hougang St 21 recently. As it happens to be near my house, i frequently visit this branch. There is an ongoing promotion at Yoshinoya which allows student to order a main dish and drinks at just $5.They offer 3 choices for the main course. Beef bowl, salmon rice bowl, and chicken rice bowl.I ordered the student meal beef bowl and i was rather pleased with my choice. The beef was juicy and in just the right portions for a student.Theres another option to top up your meal with a side dish for an additional $1. Overall, it was quite worth the $5 bucks. continue reading

This outlet actually locates inside Heartland Mall. I would say the outlet's size is quite average. During dinner time on a weekday, it was not too crowded. Only a few tables were being occupied. I had the beef bowl again as I really love the beef bowl with its sauce and onions. The beef slices were well cooked and it was up to standard. The miso soup came with many small pieces of seaweed and tofu. As with all miso soup, I find it slightly salty. Service was quite good as the service staff will recommend their desserts to you. I was served promptly too. continue reading
