It wasn't crowded as it was still early and this place is usually only packed at night. I ordered the Prawn Noodle but I had to wait for a while, the staff seems to be busy with something. Unfortunately, it was bland and overrated. I had my hopes high after seeing all the ads. There are limited carpark lots, so if you anyhow park be careful of summon officers. continue reading

The cheapest bowl of prawn noodles cost a whooping $4 which is rather expensive for a hawker centre. I like how they use thicker beehoon instead of the skinny type of beehoon. I knew about this stall from the gordon ramsey's challenge and was thus curious about how good it is. i have tried better prawn noodles elsewhere. The prawn noodles lacked flavour in the soup which I find spoils the whole dish as the soup is definitely a very important component in a good bowl of prawn noodles soup. continue reading

It was after an early morning trekking session at macritchie that we decided to come to adam road for its famour big prawn noodle! I have heard lots of rave about this place and I know its always super long queue but because we were on a weekend queue was rather short. The prawns are fresh and I would say medium instead of large size and each bowl cost between $5 to $10 which is expensive for hawker food.. As always the stock/soup of any prawn mee makes or breaks it and i think i would give this stall 7/10. THe still road one still counts as number 1 for me~! Will not come here purposely to eat it but will definitely eat it again if i come to adam road. continue reading

For full experience write up & photos, please visit my blog: http://www.aspirantsg.com/food/prawn-mee-meal-adam-road-noo-cheng/singapore or follow me on twitter for regular food reviews: https://twitter.com/AspirantSGNoo Cheng Adam Road Big Prawn Mee is quite a hit with the patrons of Adam Road Food Centre. Ok lor, so many people eat this, cannot go too wrong right. We ordered smallest portion Pork Ribs Big Prawn Noodles ($5) & Pork Slices Big Prawn Noodles ($4). Suggestion: try mixing 2 different noodles together for a more textured bite & ask the auntie for more broth. They have different prawn treatment for their Pork Ribs & Pork Slice options. The prawns for the Pork Ribs Noodles were kept intact while the prawns for the Sliced Pork Noodles were neatly cut into half for convenience. My personal take is that the portion is relatively small for $4. The prawns are not really big as what the name suggested and perhaps not as fresh as I would like them to be. But the broth is definitely tasty and the good part is you can go back & request for a refill anytime. Please pardon my service & ambience ratings as this is a hawker centre stall! Do not come here if you are looking out for chill out or good service.
