Ai Mien Bar was having a promotion and we decided to try it for dinner. I ordered the Singapore style fried bee hoon which costs around $10. It is considered expensive as I could get cheaper ones elsewhere. The bee hoon tasted average, stir fried with lots of vegetables and some meat. Plus point of the place is the interior design, it is a very cozy environment suitable for drinks or meals. continue reading

"The Love of Noodles" and Hot Stone Pot @ Ai Mien Bar, Capital Tower.Got a discounted price of $3 nett instead of $12.71 for each of the following dish1. Crispy Egg Noodles with Shredded Chicken & CapsicumNoodles are crispy but the ingredients and flavour are too plain. 2. Wok-Fried Fragrant Rice with Chicken Cube and Preserved Vegetables in Hot Stone PotA rather plain fried rice. But quite nice to for it to be served in hot stone pot. continue reading

Got some Groupon vouchers and decided to go try out this eatery with an interesting concept. We didn't have any noodles even though the name translated to English is (love noodles). The tea comes in a pretty glass pot. The initial pot was white in color and the leaves came pouring out. So the waitress changed it to this classy little thing and I'm not sure what else she did but the leaves doesn't come out anymore. I even asked for hot water top up when I finish the pot.I love salted egg yolk cooked in everything! The little beancurd cube is done in such a way that it's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salted egg yolk covered the entire beancurd cube!! Love the fragrance of this bite size beancurd. Would definitely order this again if I go back to the restaurant.I have eaten many kinds of cheong fun but this is the first time, I've eaten it with XO sauce. It has a combination of slightly sweet and slightly salty taste. The smell is superb and the cheong fun is really soft. It just melts in your mouth. Very interesting dish and if you don't touch it, it looks exactly like pork ribs cooked in dark sauce! continue reading

Had a great night out at Ai Mien Bar! orderd the Crispy Egg Noodles with shredded chicken and capsicum. This was awesome! The noodles was so crispy that it didn’t fel like noodles at all, very unique. The shredded chicken was very fresh too! yummy! We also ordered the deep fried eggplant with pork floss. The pork floss was an interesting addition to the eggplant! Makes it extra fragrant! continue reading

I was here with my mum. This restaurant is located at Tanjong Pagar and just recently opened at October last year.Once you enter the place, what strikes you first is that you see a stage with the usual mic and stand setup, and you wonder what is that for.As it turns out Ai-Mien Bar caters to the expatriate drinking crowd at night, where there's either live singing performances or magic show depending on which day of the week. That's why it's called the Bar.Going on to the food.We ordered their specialty "Cold Noodles", it's white noodles served cold, with carrots, veges and a special sauce, which tasted to me like peanut sauce with some chocolate caramel added in?So yes it's a sweet sauce and not the salty type which most people are used to. IMHO, my mum like it, but to me it tasted kind of strange,I also ordered an Abalone Stone Bowl rice and prawn 'balls' which is actually Aladdin shrimp or Glass Shrimps, which is crunchy to the mouth, and taste good.I also recommend the Chicken soup which taste rich and really suit my taste. If you use DBS/POSB credit/debit card now, you get 10%, happy hour for one for one beer starts at 5 p.m continue reading
