I'm back again at Dough Culture for quality fried snacks.3 in 1 Glutinous rice cake 三合一年糕 $1.10This is what my mom used to make during CNY. Typically it contains one slice of 年糕, one slice of yam and one slice of sweet potato, but Dough Culture only uses two slices of yam and one slice of 年糕. Either way, it is extremely delicious..can't get enough of it!Fried carrot cake $1.00This is a local traditional snack sold at most coffee shops...best for breakfast. I liked the crispy skin and soft kueh interior...yummy.Spring roll $1.20The spring rolls were not too bad, very crispy and contains ample servings of turnip, carrot and mushroom. You get a small discount for buying items in multiples of three... continue reading

When i was young, there used to be a very good stall selling you tiao at the Seletar Market but sadly i don't get to enjoy anymore when the whole place was demolished and i don't know where they shifted to. Thankfully nowadays i do see some places selling you tiao but it has to be freshly fried then it's nice! I'm glad Dough Culture has a nearby branch @ Nex for me to satisfy my cravings. I'm lucky as i usually happened to reach at a time when there's a new fresh batch of you tiao! Enjoy it while it's hot with a crispy exterior and fluffy soft interior. Yum! continue reading

This outlet serves tasty traditional bites such as ''You Tiao'' and ''Goreng Pisang''.It is difficult to find this type of outlet in a shopping mall these days. Most of them are in the hawker centres. The bites are prepared fresh and hot, right before your eyes!''You tiao'' is my all time favourite. This one is tasty and crispy and just melts in your mouth. It's not too oily and absolutely delicious. The Goren Pisang is equally good. It has been dipped in lots of batter before being fried. The batter is crunchy and that's my favourite part. The banana I had was a small one and sweet and yummy!I will definitely go back to try more bites such as the ''Samosa" and ''Butterfly'' .The service at the stall is fast and good. Of course, the ''You-Tiao'' runs out really fast, so, sometimes, you have to wait a while as they prepare a fresh batch.Closer to closing time, there are some offers and discounts as well. continue reading

not a fan of the curry puff here. there is no egg in the curry puff. i prefer curry puffs with egg. it doesn't taste too bad. has some cinnamony spice taste. the pastry is not bad. the filling is mostly potatoe only. nothing special about this curry puff. quite average. would probably not buy again. there are other deep fried stuff here. might try the new year cake with yam and potato next time. lots of dough fritters. there's a deal if you buy 5. fast service. friendly. prefer chang kee's curry puff. continue reading

As Nex Mall was kind of a new shopping centre, My family and I went there to take a walk. It was quite big and lots of Food Restaurant to choose from. When I was walking around the shopping centre, I saw about 2 to 3 customers eating the 'You Tiao'. Out of curiosity, I went to find out where and bought it [: It was warm, crispy and the length was quite long. I am totally in love with it I tried the dessert ' Tao Suan' but it does not appeal to me. It texture was too glue-like and very sweet. continue reading
