My return for Hi-tea again couple weeks ago, my friend was craving for its cake. Indeed Tea Dot was expert in baking and designing their cakes, each of them was an effort. Observing people walked by, it was what I did in a relaxing afternoon. No choice, the café was at high-profile location. Great dedicated piece of cake, it was perfectly turned out moist-like heaven snack. Fragrant of Yuzu fruit was twisted nicely with Mascarpone Blended Cheese and Vanilla Genoise. I just simply fancy about the cheesy starchy texture.

Teadot has a breakfast set with free flow coffee and tea. The main includes its chicken pie, quiche and other. I really liked the chicken pie as the crust is very crispy and the filling taste really good. However, I didn't like the beverage as the coffee here is flat and the tea is very diluted.

Teadot at Serangoon NEX isn't really that new a cafe, but certainly noteworthy as a alternative u can turn to if you are in the vicinity. In fact, it's right opposite Starbucks at NEX and this cafe is really holding its own! Where Starbucks has its signature dark mahogany wood finishing, Teadot has opted for a lighter, more lively, but still wooden finishes as well. But what really counts is it's alternative drinks menu. As it's name might suggest, TeaDot focuses more on the tea aspect - you'll find a mix of Yuzu, Chai Tea, Green Tea variations among the menu. In response to Starbucks' Tall, Grande and Venti, you have a quirky Puny, Regular and Generous. $6.50-$7.50 gets you the biggest cup in the mix depending on flavour.I had the Lonely Mocha Frappe, strangely named I thought, for loneliness for one of the furthest things from my mind when I tasted the drink. It's by no means gelat, but nice and smooth chocolatey notes were clear and there's the delightful wake up call of caffeine in the after taste. To go along, a Green Tea Cake which was decidedly matcha. Alternating layers of green tea flavored mousse and sponge with a delightful chocolate twirl seated on top for effect. My initial assessment: TeaDot really hits the spot with its refreshing drink menu and it is definitely going places with a much more expansive cake and pastry list as well. Lonely Mocha Frappuchino has just taken too spot in my heart for local mocha drinks for attention to detail and that amazing flavour profile. Definitely a place to watch!

Following the trend of upscale coffee joints opening in Singapore, Teadot is like a tea counterpart to all of these coffee joints that serves mainly teas. Also like other coffee joints, they also serve coffee and other beverages, as well as some pies, cakes, muffins and scones that would compliment a drink for a great high-tea.The Blueberry Muffin is warmed as you order. The whiff of the muffin was so alluring as it laid on the table. It was fluffy and there were traces of blueberry in it, and was a good item to compliment any hot beverage on a day where relaxation is on top of the mind. The New York Cheesecake is slightly stiffer than others served out there., though smooth. It’s light tasting, probably even on the verge of being quite bland which was a letdown. This is actually my first Lemon Meringue Tart and I was treated to a combination of many flavours. The lemon’s sourness is being evened-out by the fresh cream and a layer of semi-sweet chocolate that was in between the lemon and the crust. The crust also held the tart pretty well and was still pretty rigid even after a while. For more photos and the full review, please visit: http://jiaksimipng.wordpress.com/2013/03/30/teadot-nex/

After shopping at nex,we feel very tired,so went to teadot for some high tea. I had their Matcha, an ice blended green tea frappe with fresh milk, it looked like a smoothie. I can taste the milky taste inside my tea, it was sweet, thick & very refreshing. They also have a few kinds of cakes, we tried a few. Chocolate Macadamia is my favorite among all. I like the middle chocolate and it have bits of macadamia nuts. But their price is a bit over priced.
