Indeed a chocolate indulgence with Polar Puffs and Cakes brownie. This all time favourite brownie cake with yummy chocolate slabs on every side.Rich in flavour and decadent chocolate fudge with walnut chunks for this double layered cake.Price at S$18.50 for this petite order.I kept the balance of the chocolate slabs and melt them into chocolate fondue to go with the sweet Korean strawberries. Waste not, want not, here's the chocolate fondue made from the balance of the Chocolate slabs. continue reading

It's my son's 5th Birthday today and so a week ago, we go over to Nex Polar Puff & Cakes outlet to order his birthday cake. The reason for choosing Polar Cake this year is because he is an avid fan of Thomas the Train engine and I am aware that Polar has character cream cake and they have Thomas. So I took him to choose this own birthday cake and he chooses James as James is number 5 in Thomas train cartoon and he is 5 years old.The nice Thomas cake box.The James chocolate fudge cake, I find this cake a bit too sweet to my tasting. Will be nice if it is not so sweet. continue reading

My friend wanted to have Polar's curry puff so I tagged along to the stall. As I was feeling slightly hungry as well, I decided to get for myself a Tuna Puff. The puffs are rather expensive with each costing more than $2. Tastewise it is quite good. I love that the tuna filling is still a little moist which helps to enhance the entire eating experience. The exterior crusty pastry is also flaky and still slightly warm which helps to further enhance the taste. I would say the ratio of the tuna filling to the crust is also just optimal. Besides tuna and curry, there are also other fillings available which will suit most tastebuds. continue reading

This is my first time trying out the chocolate fudge cake from Polar. I chose it because it is a smaller cake which is just right for the party of five of us including the birthday girl. Not quite sure what the fruit is on top of the cake, but it is quite sour, so we did not eat that. The chocolate is very chocolately and is suitable for chocolate lovers. It is a mixture of layers of chocolate sponge cake and a layer of chocolate fudge. Eaten in small amount, the cake is awesome because the chocolate intensity is there. However, in large amount, the chocolate taste can get slightly too overwhelming, so the best way to enjoy this cake is to eat it in small amounts. continue reading

nice sugar roll here. you can choose to have sugar or no sugar on top of the roll. i love this roll. it's so soft yet dense. a bit like towel cake. it's actually better than the rich and good cake shop. it's also very cheap here compared to others - only about $1.20. there are other cakes on offer too. their roll cakes are actually very good. their puff pastry is not as good. i always get their roll cakes here. it holds up well even if it's take away. and it's fresh and fragrant. recommended! continue reading
