Introduction
Jing Long Seafood Restaurant started off as a humble zichar stall at a coffee shop in Bedok in 1999. Business was tough at the beginning, but even though we struggled to make ends meet each day, we ended each day with a smile, believing that hard work and perseverance and our passion for serving good food would eventually lead us to success. Over time, we developed a steady stream of regular patrons who loved our signature dishes like Hong Kong-style Pork Ribs, Caipo Toufu, Ya Fang, Sea Cucumber With Duck, and Salted Egg Crab. continue reading

I never came across to have Braised Pork Rice at Seafood Restaurant before, it normally appeared at familiar Coffeeshop and Hawker Centre. Located at Bedok area, the business was pretty good anyway. We had Ala Carte Menu instead of Set Menu. High-recommended by my ex-colleague, it was must-try item here. Attractive shining gravy on top of rice, it appeared very mouth-watering. The broth was overwhelming satisfied, it was soul of the whole. Pork was not too fat, the ratio was all right. Simple home-cooked flavour, it maybe not the best yet it reminded me a lot. $10.80 for the rice, it was expensive for me. continue reading

My brother in law saw jin long advertisement on newspaper and so we decide to go try it.Crispy Chicken w/ Crepe(36.80), quite special, the Crispy chicken is sandwiched between fresh crepe. The crispy chicken is crispy and nice, great combination with the crepe and it taste even better when you dip it in thousand island sauce that they provide.Spring Onion and Ginger Venison ($24.80), the meat is tender and the spring onion, ginger sauce is nice.Scallop & Banana w/ Bak Gua Roll ($5 each, min 3 pieces per order) , this is one of their signature dish, there are scallops, shrimps, banana and barbeque pork (Ba Gua) in it, the outer boat shaped layer is crispy, quite a unique taste. You can taste both savoury and sweet together.Thai Style Pig Trotter, ($20.80) another unique dish, the pig trotter that I usually eat is either braised or deep fried, this is different, they use sweet and sour thai sauce, quite nice combination and the pig trotter is tender and goes well with the sauce.Beancurd w/ crispy Salted Turnips ($16.00), I did not try this coz I am not a fan of beancurd but my family members commented that it's nice.Salted egg Prawns ($26.80), the prawns are fresh and thou its been deep fried first, the meat does not stick to the shell and the salted egg sauce is nice and fragrant.Great place for dinner with family but will be advisable to make reservations early during peak hours or festive seasons. continue reading

I passed by Jing Long and decided to get some takeaway, as they have quite a wide selection of dishes as I remember from my past visit. This time, I got the sliced fish and spinach; nothing special, but the spinach was quite well stir-fried. I also got their beancurd with golden mushroom and shimeji - tofu was silky soft, and I liked the crispy golden mushrooms, but they turned a little soggy when I got home. continue reading

Once again, like previous years, we had our mothers' day lunch with my family (maternal) at Jin Long Seafood Restaurant at Bedok North again. However, again due to Mothers' Day crowd, we waited near 45 minutes before our first dish was being served. Presentation of the first dish was good and I was looking forward to other dishes with much anticipation. Ok, the first dish passed., the crepe was tasty. However, we were rather disappointed with the food from this dish onwards. The cornflakes on the Coffee Pork Ribs, to us, didn't serve any purpose. We were all shocked when the last dish served was actually braised pork with rice when most of us were already quite full. The way the dish was served looked very unappetizing as well. Thus, I think again, this dish should be tweaked eg. served without the rice and improve on the presentation, if it were to be part of the set menu. The desserts was fruit jelly served to each of us in individual small plastic containers. I didn't bother to take photo of this one.Overall, compared to last year, we had quite a number of complains with regards to the dishes served in the Mothers' Day Set Menu this year. We feedback to the manager, and not sure whether because of this, she gave my grandmother 2 bottles of bird nest. The cost was around $388 per table, which was steeper than last year. Hope they will continue to make improvement to their menu. This is a memorable dining moment for me because It was my father's birthday. My sister and I were discussing together with mother where to bring him to celebrate his birthday. My mom and sister suggest to go dinner at Jin Long to celebrate his birthday. We called up Jin Long to book a table for 6 person. We drove in 2 cars and reached there around 7pm. we ordered quite a long of dishes. My father is also very happy. Overall the food taste really good and price is reasonable. We have also 10% discount from the boss and give us 2 memebership free. continue reading
