Glutinous Rice Balls with peanut soup $2.80 for 3 pieces - The glutinous rice balls were chewy and filled with peanut fillings. The peanut fillings were finely chopped. The peanut soup were a bit bland though but the rice balls made up for it although it was quite sweet but lacked the peanut flavour. continue reading

My regular shop at next door was rather crowded when i was there so i decided to give this one a try. I went to the counter wanting to make an order but I was asked to take a seat and quickly presented the menu by the friendly assistant. I decided to have the black glutinous rice with vanilla ice cream that i have been ordering from their competitor next door. I took notice that it is priced at $3.00. The last time when i ordered this next door was only $2.50 there. I paid when it was served to the table in less than 5 minutes. It did not have bits of peanuts sprinkled right on top just like how their competitor served it. The taste of black glutinous rice tasted comparable but it would be nicer if it is slightly sweeter. The black glutinous rice has got a sticky consistency and right texture. It was served with a ball of vanilla ice-cream that complemented the taste of black glutinous rice perfectly. I have tried something rather similar during my recent trip to Hong Kong. Though this particular bowl might not be as nice as their competitor next door but it tasted much nicer than the one that i had at the famous dessert shop in Hong Kong. continue reading

black sesame with almond paste $3.Decided to drop by this stall again and give it another try even though the last visit was a disappointment. I had this black sesame dessert which unfortunately tasted Really light and somewhat diluted even though the appearance did not seem like it. The almond taste was quite faint too. This is not worth getting as the taste was not at all satisfying continue reading

After purchasing my betrothal gifts at one of the shops in people's park centre with my fiancee, was feeling a bit hungry. Happened to pass by this stretch of the 2nd storey and saw two stores offering dessert. Decided to give this store a try since it was more well furnished. - Tow Suan - the soy bean ( i supposed) was not too soft. In fact quite crunchy. - Glutinous Rice Balls with peanut soup - the glutinous rice balls was quite chewy and it was filled with peanuts fillings. However, the soup was too sweet for me. continue reading
