As it was a Monday, in the back of our mind was that not too many stalls would be opened in the hawker centre. Since Teochew Fishball stall was opened, I had an impromptu meetup with my colleague over breakfast. Each of us bought our own bowl of fishball noodles from the stall. The only difference of our bowls was the choice of noodles. I had chosen Mee Kia while he had chosen Mee Pok in a mixture of chilli and ketchup.3 Slices of fishcakes were placed on top of our noodles, however my bowl only came with white fishcakes unlike his, Orange fish cakes were available. As for the 3 fishballs, they were separated from the noodles. The fishballs were big, soft, bouncy and chewy with added cabbages floating in the soup. What a heavy breakfast I had!Cost: $3 continue reading

On this terrible weather, the best choice for dinner will be a light meal that does not further add to your frustration. So since I'm at Clementi with my parents, we decided to head for our dinner at the food centre which is not very cheap but still we got more varieties to choose from and less crowded. My mum and I just choose to have noodles soup and this stall just come into sight so we ordered Fishball Noodles Soup ($3 each) to fill our stomach. Basically, there is nothing to rave about because I thought since is Teochew Fishball, there is something to look forward to but it is just a slightly bigger fishball that is fresh and springy. There are two types of fishcakes in the bowl which tastes a little strange but still bearable and also lots of beansprouts. We can't expect much with such a price because sometimes there can be more expensive ones that tastes even more bland and less ingredients. Let's be grateful for such good stall owners who despite price hike, did not increase further the price of their food. The uncle at the stall is quite friendly too. continue reading

I was having lunch at the hawker centre near Clementi Mall and i didn't know what to eat. I finally decided to eat fishball noodle and my mum helped me order a bowl. The fishball noodle came from the shop Teochew Fishball. I have eaten fishball noodle from that shop before. It was average. The fishball was quite nice, the fishcake was nice too. I think that they were better than many other shops I ate from before. The noodle was normal, though, like any other fishball noodle shop. I would eat there again sometime soon. continue reading

There's always a long queue at this fishball noodle stall and I myself is a fan of their fishballs too. It was only today that I realised they are so high tech to have a computer system that can record and print out the orders in black and white. This way even if one's order is very complicated, there's lesser chance of them making a mistake just be memorizing the orders. Ordered their Mee Pok. Their fishballs are big, firm and springy. They only give 3 fishballs unless otherwise ordered as their fishcake are huge and flavourful too. The orange colour and white colour fishcake both taste the same. Initially I thought the orange colour one is otah fishcake. continue reading
