I was walking along ABC Hawker Centre and I saw a dessert stall menu board showing Gangster Ice 流氓冰. I wonder what was it so special that the boss named this dessert that way. Hence I ordered a bowl of 流氓冰 at $2.50 to try. The 流氓冰 came with a surprise, there was a ball of yellow ice cream on top of the mango ice. But when I scoop the yellow ball of ice cream, it seem to smell like durian and had fibre texture. When I eat the yellow ball of ice cream, it was actually real frozen durian meat. Ot was very tasty, I never knew frozen durian tasted so good and refreshing. The mango in the bowl of 流氓冰 however was more sourish than sweet. But nevertheless the shaved ice was sweetened, eating mango with the shaved ice would not be so sourish. continue reading

Ever since I discovered this dessert stall and saw so many reviews & awards, I will always buy from this stall for my dose of dessert. I ordered their speciality "Power chendol" as is also listed in the newspaper & magazines review. Last time I tried their Penang Chendol hence this time I want to try their Power Chendol. What is so special about this stall is that they served generous portion of Gula Melaka drenched on the ice-ball shaped chendol. It reminds me of the ice-ball that my parents used to eat and I love the Power Chendol. Ingredients such as chendol & red bean are all very fresh. Coconut milk also quite thick and overall does not taste so sweet. Best part the price is only $1.50 which is cheaper compared to other stalls. The queue can be quite long during peak hours and overall, is a must try for all chendol lovers ! continue reading

The normal bowl of Cheng Tng would cost $1.50 but this was a special edition bought on top of their usual bowl of Cheng Tng. The only thing special was that it was added with 2 big pieces of sweet potatoes, boiled and softened in texture. The Cheng Tng alone was cooling and not very sweet. However the shaved ice was not that fine as expected, was a little bit disappointed.Red Ruby, a common dessert that uses water chestnuts bites with tapioca flour and red coloring over it which gives a thin jelly like layer. While the bottom portion was make up of shaved ice with abundance of coconut milk adding fragrance to the bowl of lovely dessert. continue reading

Have you ever heard of Gangster Ice? It is a creation by the owner, which is made of mango ice and durian flesh. There were generous serving of mango cubes drizzled over with condensed milk and topped with a scoop of durian.I like the mango most as it is sweet and rich in taste, but the durian would have better if it is less watery. I will definitely recommend my friends to check out this dessert stall. continue reading
