The location of Siraj is rather prominent as they were located at the corner of Albert Centre Market and Food Centre. I was introduced to Siraj from a friend who told me that Siraj is actually the Famous Indian Rojak from Waterloo Street and he had heard about it from the "Lost and Found" Television Program sometimes back.We stopped and grabbed some bite before continuing our meetup session on a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon. Like the usual Indian Rojak Stalls, the fried flour made items were many and came in attractive colors. There was a crowd over at their stall and patrons were waiting for their turn to pick up the assortment. These selected items were them placed into the deep fryer at high temperature and cut into smaller pieces, ready to be served with cucumbers, onions and green chillis. Gravy was hot but diluted.Kambing Soup tasted quite diluted and was a disappointment. One look at it, I was somehow turned off by the oily layer. However, the meat was tender but still as an overall, the taste was lacking.Overall, I would say that their Indian rojak was more than ordinary and honestly speaking, I have expected something more, perhaps comparable to Habib's Rojak of West Coast or Al mahboob Rojak in Tampines. continue reading

The FoodI ordered the Indian Rojak with the usual ingredients. All the flours stuff were done very well to go along with the sauce. My favourite will be the prawn fritters which are very crispy and crunchy. The cuttlefishes were tasty, soft, lightly crunchy and taste shiok when dipped in the sauce. The sauce here is very special and nice as they use sweet potatoes as a base, which will thicken the sauce and release the sourness and sweetness combined with sesame seeds for the Oomph!!The ServiceWaiting time still acceptable as the food is served within 15mins.The AmbienceAlthough the stall is in a Hawker Center, i find that the place was well-ventilated and not stuffy hence still acceptableThe PriceReasonably priced at $5.00 per plate for decent portion.OverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

You will have a hard time to choose whuch you like.I decided to have four items including their famous octopus. Cost $4.00 Yes, you must try this. This is the famous indian rojak originated from Waterloo Street. And now, the stall at Waterloo Street is run by the Stall owner's sister. What is so exceptionally good about this Indian Rojak? It has to be the Vadai. The Vadai is the best that i ever eaten for Indian Rojak. it is so good that it always left you wanting more. The rest of the items were rather good too. Everything was freshly prepared daily and the sauce complimented perfectly. The Mee Siam is another must try here. The indian Mee Siam is rather different from the Malay and the Chinese version. It is quite distinctive on its own and sweeter too. Recommended. continue reading

The indian rojak variety was quite typical. There was nothing in specific which caught my attention when I was choosing the ingredient.I know Indian rojak is extremely high in carbo and oil content. It's a sinful indulge once in a while thou. The plus point of this stall - Gravy were serve hot. Most of the indian rojak gravy I had, they didnt bother to keep the gravy warm at least.Taste wise, the gravy seem a little diluted. It'll be better if the gravy were thicker. continue reading
