I have always wanted to drop by the Bread Project bakery after reading the review about them on the Sunday Times! I was around the area having breakfast and finally had the chance to check out this bakery As I was there around 10plus am, the buns were all nicely laid out on the display counter. I heard that on some days, the buns get sold out as early as 12plus pm! We bought home 4 different pastries and shared them during tea-break! However, I was disappointed that the buns didn't turn out to be what I had expected them to be. All of them tasted quite average. The nicest one is the Pain Au Chocolat, which is a common pastry sold at almost all the bakeries. The Orange Cream Tart and Bostock were also not bad and you can give the Chocolate Concha a miss. continue reading

This little bread boutique is along the Joo Chiat road nearer to Joo Chiat Complex. It sells mainly European Bead using natural ingredients with no preservative. We walked in after an early dinner at the Vietnamese Restaurant. It was still open just before 6pm (normally closed at 5pm). The lady was keeping the bread as we walked in. I saw this usual bun which is filled with orange cream. The bun look like an open tart but the based is soft sweet bread filled with not too sweet orange cream and orange peals. On top it is sprinkle with small square bits of biscuit and icing sugar. It gives it a contrasting texture. The price is $2.30 each. Nice for breakfast or a tea snacks. continue reading

i happened to pass by the bread project. I found the shop name rather unique so I decided to give it a try. I bought the chocolate filling bun. It was really good. the chocolate was so rich, it practically ooze out when I took a bite. The bun was soft and moist, I love the softness of it, makes you wanna take bite after bite. The filling is not too sweet and not too much, the portion is just right. What can I say they succeeded in their BREAD PROJECT! continue reading
