Had a frenchy morning at Lot One Shoppers' Mall - Ya Kun outlet. I always love to patron this stalls as the aunties there are very friendly, at the same times, fast and efficient ;)There are at least 3 person there to serve the queue and their smiles will always make my day.As my French toast is freshly toasted and served 'HOT', I was even warned about the hotness when the toast was passed to me. Overall, is really good. But this Ya Kun outlet stall does not have kaya balls, so fans of kaya ball take note! continue reading

Ya Kun Kaya Toast does sell one of the nicer teh in Singapore. On hot and dry weathers, their Iced Teh is the best drink to cool your body down. Firstly the tea they used is really fragrant, it leaves a lingering tea fragrance in your mouth after every sip. they added condensed milk making the drink on the sweet side, however, after some time, the ice melts and the sweetness is just right. i guess the reason why they made it sweeter is to allow the ice to melt so the drink would not taste so bland. continue reading

To escape the awful haze, i decided to head to Lot One Shoppers' Mall for tea with my mother. The first thing we saw when we entered the mall was Ya Kun Kaya Toast and we knew that is just the right place for an afternoon tea. I ordered the french toast with kaya. i know it is not as value for money as compared to their toast, but my love for french toast overcame the dilemma.Their french toast is so fragrant. you can taste the egg that coat their brown bread. the french toast only has a tinge of sweetness, but when dipped with the sweet kaya, it taste just right. i think this makes an excellent afternoon tea! continue reading

I like the soft boil egg at ya kun. Their soft boiled eggs are always cooked perfectly. It is not overcooked nor is it undercooked. The eggs taste really good too. their toast is pretty delicious too. I like to order their kaya toast. The toast is so crispy. I like to dip my toast in the soft boiled eggs. It make it taste less dry and more flavourful. It makes a really good afternoon tea. continue reading

Was here together with my friend for a tea time snack after a movie. I ordered just the half boiled eggs while my friend got the full set of toast and drink. The yolks are still very runny which is the way I like it. I usually add the black sauce and some pepper to it before gulping it down in one mouthful. continue reading
