Hot Spot Cafe Restaurant is located on the outside of the ground floor of Burlington Square and it has several stalls in the restaurant. Opposite Sim Lim Square, it can get crowded during the lunch hour and for good reason too. The first stall sells fish soup and is indisputably the most popular stall there.I had the normal fish soup for a meal but you can order Tom Yam Soup if that suits you more! The soup itself was very good and suiting - Not too salty and not too bland, it was a perfect mix. The portion of fish, vegetables and noodles was very generous and the fish was delicious. You can order fried fish or a mix of normal and fried fish slices. This stall definitely deserves the reputation it has earned and you absolutely have to grab a bite here! continue reading

Despite this is a zi char and Thai steamboat restaurant, they do operate during lunch time for working adults. Ordered a combination of sliced and fry fish soup due to the long queue outside make me curious on what they sell during lunch. The soup base is good. Fish is fresh and the portion that they give is even. Along with it will be beancurd and xiao bai cai which is pretty normal that you can find it in other stall too. The only thing is that they garnish it off with fried egg that makes it even tasty. Will come back to try on their other dishes. continue reading

Instead of eating Western Food, we finally came to this restaurant to have our welcoming lunch for our new colleague. Total five persons of us, we decided to order four dishes for our lunch.Fresh and good quality of pork, not too hard but still considered crunchy. It was delicious, mixed around with tomato sauce, onions, cucumbers, pineapples and chillies after deep fried. It is healthy to consume more vegetables, but not for this. For me, it was just simply fried with garlic and no taste at all. The vegetables was not cut into small, while some were still raw. We regret to order vegetables. A simple dish with salt and light sauce. Straightforward taste without any luxury ingredients such as prawns or scallops.Exactly nice to see and nice to eat. It was a must-try dish on the menu. Crabs were fried with a fragrant red sauce, it was savoury and flavourful.Overall, it was normal, the price also slightly expensive if you compared to other seafood restaurants. Yet, the location considered good, near both bugis and little india MRT. continue reading
