For photos and more reviews, visit http://thelittlemomentsofmylife.blogspot.sg I love this adorable cupcake shop just around the corner from toby's estate! ^^ it is soooo adorable! i was so excited to see it, and their flavours sound so interesting (: besides their typical flavours available daily, they also have specials that change on a daily basis i think. and i absolutely love how they have super-mini cupcake sizes!!!! they are little bite sized ones, which just seem much less sinful hehe i tried the lavendar mini cupcake ($2.80) and i loooved the light floral aroma that it had. the icing was light and fluffy, which was nice. continue reading

From outside of the shop, I can see a number of female busy in the kitchen. Step into the place, it is filled with the fresh baking smells. Although there nothing other than cupcakes on sale, I am at a lose on what to order when face with the rows of colourful cupcakes. Prices of a regular cupcake ranges from $3.95 to $4.10. There is also tiny sized ones which costs $2.50 to $2.95 a piece.Very Vanilla ($3.95)Vanilla Cupcake with Vanilla Butter Cream Frosting & SprinklesOh So Cocoa ($3.95)Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting & SprinklesWhat's Up Doc ($3.95)Carrot Cupcake With Crushed Pineapple & Cream Cheese FrostingRed Velvet ($3.95)Crimson Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese FrostingNuts about You ($3.95)Chocolate Cupcake with Smooth Peanut Butter Cream Frosting & Peanut M&M'sVanilla Chocolate ($3.95)Vanilla Cupcake with Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting & SprinklesFor a box of 6-piece of the above collection, it will costs $22.95. Overall still feels it is quite expensive for a cupcake. It is quite a interesting take on the cream frosting, which is much heavier than the usual cream. It tastes quite rich, which gives me a quite sugar rush. But I also notice that it is a bit that the cake below cannot support it. I have quite a hard time when removing the cupcakes from the box. Maybe the box has to be changed. continue reading

Ordered a 12pcs mini cupcakes set from Swirl Bake Shop. Their cupcake base are so soft it threaten to collapse when i lift it out of the box. Using only natural ingredients, the taste is fragrant and not too sweet.I don't like the cream on top as they have a sandy texture. I prefer smooth cream on my cupcakes. However, this could be the characteristic of a "all-American gourmet cupcake". A nice try but I won't be back for more. continue reading

http://sofood.wordpress.com/2013/05/23/swirls-bake-shop-sg/Cupcakes here available in 3 different sizes:Gobble Gobbles (Bite Sized Tiny’s) – approx. S$2.50Regulars – approx. S$4Colossal (Giant Cupcake) – price unknownToday’s special flavour – chocolate cheesecake!Being a cheesecake lover and a chocoholic, this is a genius combination! You also get crushed biscuit crunch at the bottom, and a dollop of dark chocolate bite at the top.Not to mention the slightly tangy and creamy rich chocolate infused cream cheese in the middle.Hazelnut cupcake with Nutella swirl inside. This was essentially a chocolate cupcake with Nutella swirls within.Topped with hazelnut butter cream frosting.Probably I had this after the chocolate cheesecake (above), the flavour paled in comparison.Swirls definitely packed a punch in terms of ingredients, flavours and weight too in their cupcakes. continue reading

Singapore seems have bouts of fad food fever, and I think the cupcake crave has been getting on quite well recently. There has been numerous designer and boutique cupcake shops spouting out at nooks and corners. After brunch one Saturday afternoon, we happen to pass by this little cupcake shop along robertson quay and decided to give it a try. Since they had both mini and regular sized cupcakes, I think it wouldn't be too difficult to stomach one or two after such a heavy brunch. Personally I like mini cupcakes, because it's less filling and we get to try more flavours. The array of colourful display is really attractive, making you feel like a kid in a candy store. As I was very full from a big breakfast, I decided to go with the mini red velvet (regular S$3.95). The chocolate flavour came out quite nicely and blended with the not overly sweet cream cheese frostings. However I did find the cupcake a tad dry. Which I'm not sure if it's because of the mini size, perhaps mini cupcakes are usually drier in texture as the regular ones. The taste was alright. Nothing much to rave about. But perhaps i could give Swirls another shot and have the regular ones instead!! continue reading
