Had my lunch at this Japanese restaurant when I was shopping around Orchard Road. THis restaurant looks very posh and spacious, and also quite cooling as well. Service was friendly and quite fast as well. Bought their Salmon Don and Maccha ice cream. Rice is fragrant and the sliced salmons are very fresh and chewy, which goes very well with the rice. The green tea ice cream is very smooth and thick green tea flavour in it, which is not to sweet and very delicious. The side smashed red beansand whip cream are appetizing and goes well with the ice cream as well. Paid less than $15 for this meal which is quite affordable. continue reading

for photos and more reviews, visit http://littlemomentsofmylife.wordpress.com/ i had some misunderstanding with the pricing of this place! :/ on a food blog that i saw it, and when i called to make my reservation, i was told that the set for 4pax was priced at $120. but i got a shock when i finished my dinner that day - the price for the set was $130! so yup, just take note of that. but the food was pretty good though!when i called to make my reservation for mothers' day, the staff asked me whether i would be ordering the set since i enquired about it. when i told them yes, they said they would prepare it for me beforehand. and so when i arrived at my table, there was this steamboat all set up and ready! okie here's what's included in the set:caesar saladchicken minced hot potsashimi - tuna, salmon, yellowtail, swordfish, prawnenmaru rollkushiyaki - wagyu beef with oroshi ponzu, chicken thai with leek, chicken minced with plum pulp, asparagus wrapped pork belly, enoki mushroom wrapped baconthere were lots of ingredients in the chicken minced hotpot. besides the minced chicken (which the waitress helped us roll and put into the pot), there were also chicken slices, tofu, an abundance of veggies and mushrooms. the soup was absolutely delicious - plus the fact that it's supposed to have collagen inside ;) hehe bonus!there was a complimentary appetizer, which was fresh cabbage with a fragrant bean paste sauce. it was so clean and refreshing and felt so healthy!the caesar salad was tasty and i loved the bacon chips that came sprinkled on top! they were crispy, bursting with flavour and complemented the salad perfectly.there was a pretty wide selection for the enmaru roll toppings, and the filling was so interesting! it was filled with pickled beetroot and other stuff, and it had a very refreshing taste. all the sashimi was nice and fresh too!the kushiyaki was a set of five different grills, all interesting in their own way i liked the wagyu beef the most, which was bursting with a strong meaty flavour. the chicken minced with plum pulp came in the form of meatballs, that were succulent, savoury & sweet at the same time. the asparagus and mushrooms wrapped in bacon provided each other with a good contrast that was well balanced on the palate.overall, the set provided a good selection of the restaurant's offerings. and for the five of us, it was more than sufficient to fill us! the service was pretty good too - the staff were super friendly and even gave mummy a flower for mothers' day! the set is available till the end of may/june if i'm not wrong, so you can try it out! continue reading

There was a complimentary appetizer which was fresh cabbage with a fragrant bean paste sauce. It was really refreshing and i felt so healthy! Their california rolls were sweet, juicy and fresh. Love the avocado! Anchovies is nicely grilled crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with lots of eggs! We had grilled salmon too. It really melts in my mouth upon the first bite! The top is salty and crispy. Just wonderful! Salmon sashimi is really fresh too. Authentic and delicious japanese food! continue reading

Meeting some friends at Ion Orchard for dinner tonight. As one of my friend actually suggested this Japanese restaurant and was highly recommended by him even though i am quite skeptical about it. He said they served very nice yakitori. We were here around 8pm queueing and waiting for our seats for about 20 mins. Anyway, we were happy when we got our seats, even happier when we got our seats in a private room. There were 2 tables in this private room which can cater 2 groups of people in 4 or slighly more. Its time to order our food. As I am not really a yakitori person, as usually i like food in big portion, not in small pieces. haha. So i have ordered a chicken ramen which was really nice, the ramen texture was so springy and 'Q' which i really liked. Ya of cos, the chicken soup was really flavourful too. Slurps. The sushi - california roll was very nice too.Well as for their signature food - yakitori. Hmm.. I think it doesnt taste as what i imagined and expected. It wasnt that great. Maybe they have too many 'sticks' to grill. Some wasnt grilled properly. It wasnt marinate that well too. Oh they served compliment Otoushi before our meal - Its raw cabbage pieces with miso paste which tasted quite refreshing and fresh. I wonder if it can be refilled. Forget to ask the waitress anyway. haha. continue reading
