Came here few months ago with the won vouchers. The setting of the place was pretty simple but service wasn't too bad. I love their mushroom soup. It is fragrant and really fabulous! As for their risotto, i didn't like it at all. It tasted like those kind of chinese zi char stall "mui fan". Something like hor fun but in this case it's rice. It doesn't taste like those original risotto that i've tasted before. I also had side dish, sweet potato. It was hard! Really hard and it's mixed in cinnamon. Awful! continue reading

One Saturday Afternoon, Michael called me up whether want to meet up to catch up together with his girlfriend. i replied okie and asked him where to meet up. He told me that his girlfriend suggest to go to The Diet Butter at Netwon. We suggested to meetup at 7pm. It took me quite a while to find the place as the location is abit isolated i think. We ordered the food and to our disappointment, the food does not taste so fantastic plus it is not cheap also. With the price we pay i think we can have a lot more better food. continue reading

This place is rather simple but their service was good. They cater mostly for deliveries in town areas but recently i went to their website and saw that they are no longer in service. Wonder why.. Anyway, i had Ribeye steak with mushroom gravy and a cup of cappuccino. I ordered medium rare for my steak but it turns out pretty hard, more like medium. Still it wasn't too bad. Cappuccino tasted great as well. Very smooth! All in all, it was just average. continue reading

After winning the voucher from December's contest, we went to have our lunch at The Diet Butler one Monday afternoon. As we were still early, we were their first customers there. The environment is quite okay, very simple. The service staff quickly showed us the menu and informed the soup of the day was brocollies soup. At first, I intended to get the grilled salmon with lemon caper sauce but was informed it was out of stock as they had a party the day before and it has been used up. So, I settled for ribeye steak with mushroom sauce. Other main course includes a grilled dory with herb and lime butter. We also order the soup, a mango and sauteed shrimp salad with cous cous, 1 tea (Pot) and 2 coffee. For the mango and sauteed shrimp salad with cous cous, the shrimp are very fresh and sweet. The mango bite are also quite nice but we were not very used to the cous cous. I will rate it 3 out of 5.As they have run out of mushroom sauce for the ribeye steak, they recommended another sauce for it that has pineapple blended, so that it is a bit spicy and sour. I like this sauce, very appetising. However, the ribeye steak was overcooked. My medium rare has become medium or even well done. The steak was thus tough and dry. I will rate it a 2 out of 5.The dory fish was quite good but with the herb and lim butter sauce, you will get tired of it after a while. Luckily with the sauce from my ribeye steak, my friend can have a different taste for her dory. She let me tried some of the dory and I also prefer it with the a little spicy, sweet and sour sauce. The dory was fresh though. 3 and 1/2 points. The best part will be the soup. The brocollis soup with some fresh cream on top was thick and nice. You can enjoy the blended brocollis in every mouthful. This is the best. I gave it a 4 and 1/2 out of 5.Coffee and tea was standard although I would prefer my coffee to be more fragrant and have a stronger coffee aroma.Service was good . Just that some of the food items do need some improvement. But it was good that they can recommend new things when some of the items are out of stock. continue reading

Hidden @ the second level of an office building ( Winstedt road, near to distict 10 bistro bar ) there is a cosy cafe that offers healthy meals. The cafe, The Diet Butler was set up 3 months ago and so far there wasn’t much advertising & we were kept uninformed about its existence. We all know the responsibility of a butler & in this case, The Diet Butler would be in charge of our food service – providing healthy meals . The Diet Butler is the brainchild of Mr Owen Chong ( 2nd runner up of Manhunt 2008)The cafe is cosy & probably sit around 20 people ( 4 tables) .Most of their customers preferred to call for delivery. The regulars are the office people and they would call for delivery & food would be sent to their door asap. They also provide * home delivery but restrict to certain areas ( preferably the CBD, Orchard, Bukit Timah ). If you are looking for a healthy meal yet lazy to get out from your office/ house, just give them a call!* delivery charge of $ 3 appliesMenuTheir Objective is to provide healthy meals and no doubt the food being offered are on the healthy side . No deep-frying, chicken breast meat, salads … etc .The menu is changed monthly and selected items would be replaced by new dishes. Thus, it provides you a good reason to head back monthly for something new to try out.Crab & Tangerine Salad ($9+)There is a heavy usage of mayonnaise in this salad & is this healthy? I doubt so… The crab was the normal crabstick ( how I wished it was real crabmeat) and I do like the orange segments that added a tangy and fruity flavour to the salad.2 generous chicken breast fillets were heavily seasoned with black ,were served with cubes of mangoes & spicy sauce. The meat has a pungent & peppery taste. Personally, I am not a fan of the breast meat as it tends to be tougher & dry out easily. I was right , the meat was tough but the sauce and sweet mangoes provides a sweet & tangy finish. It would be good if Chicken Leg were used.Verdict : Come down to The Diet Butler for a healthy meal . If you are lazy to leave your house / inconvenience due to distance, just give them a call & food would be sent to your doorstep! continue reading
