Signature Dishes
I first came to know of Lee Brother's many years ago after trying their otah at the stall at Old Airport Road hawker. Their otahs are very fresh, and you can taste pieces of fish meat in it. I bought the prawn and squid otahs, which cost 80 cents each. The amount of prawns and squid in each piece of otah is rather proportionate, and one can taste the prawns and squid easily. Otah is not too spicy, just nice for me.

The best part about this box of nasi lemak I suppose will be the fragrant crispy ikan billis and peanuts. This is one of their signature and popular side dish which most of us love to buy. The otah is moist and quite spicy as well. Their fish cake is quite alright and is chewy and not too oily. These ingredients which combine with the generous amount of coconut rice certainly is very filling and satisfying as well.

Although you can find many Lee Wee Bro's Otah stalls around Singapore, I prefer to buy from the Lee Wee Bro's Otah stall in Ghim Moh Market & Food Centre as i feel the otah is fresher. The sell many types of otah by my favorite is the big banana leaf otah. As the otah is wrapped in banana leaf and grills, the otah meat is very fragrance and you can taste bits of fish meat in the otah.

We went by Ghim Moh on our way home and hopefully to be able to take away something for dinner at home later. We were there at about 4pm and about 80% of the stalls have already closed for the day hence left with limited choices. We decided to take away curry vegetables and curry chicken drumstick from one of the stalls and some otah from this particular stall for dinner at home. I ordered 4 of the banana leaf otah for $1.20 each. It tasted rather average. I suppose the taste would definitely be better if is eaten hot. The spiciness level was rather moderate. If given a choice, i would prefer it to be spicier. Small pieces of fish meat can be found in it. Not too bad a choice if you are left with limited choices like us.

I noticed that there was a slight change in the sign board. It used to be called the 'Lee Wee Brother's otah'. Now it was called 'Lee brother's Otah'. Other than the missing 'Wee' on the sign board, everything else remained the same. I wondered if the brothers had separated.Anyway, I felt like having some otahs, so I bought one Sotong otah ($0.80), one big banana leaf otah ($1.20) and half a dozen of the standard otah ($0.60 each). The standard otah was very tasty. Good to have during a BBQ.Nothing special, just added a piece of sotong in the standard otah.Frankly speaking, I preferred the standard otah to this big 'premium' one. This one was a little more moist, the taste of the coconut milk was stronger and it has pieces of fish which gave it a fishy taste.
