The FoodI ordered char siew with roast meat rice. The sauce is self service hence I poured just on the rice so I can taste the char siew and the roast meat. The sauce blended the rice very well. The char siew had quite bit more charred bits on the side, fatty meat was sweet, suckling, juicy and very tasty. The seasoning was very well done. The roast meat had quite a bit of fats, the skin was crispy but not very crackling at it. The PriceReasonably priced at $3.00 per plateOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

There's always a queue in front of jiu jiang shao la. Tried the char siew rice ($3) today. The amount of rice and char siew given was quite generous, perhaps that's one of the reasons for the long queue. The char siew is not bad with a bbq fragrance. However, I found the meat to be not tender enough and some parts of the char siew a bit over-charred. You can choose to add your own preferred amount of sauce to drizzle over your sauce. Generally ok if you want to have a filling meal but I guess I might not try it again if there's a queue. continue reading

I went after lunch. I expected a queue but just a few people right at the stall. I waited for only 5 minutes to order my Roast Pork and Char Siew rice to take away for $3. I tried both and prefer the char siew to the roast pork. The char siew is nicely cameralised with a good balance of sweet and salty nice together with a nicely charred surface. It still has got a slight crispiness even after i got home. The braised sauce goes well with the char siew and the rice. continue reading

Many people have recommended this roast meat stall at Ghim Moh Food Centre. With such high popularity we definitely have to join the queue to try out their roast meat. Yes I mentioned queue, it took us like a good 25 minutes for our turn. We bought the Roast Duck, Roast Pork and Char Siew. The Char Siew was rather average but both the Roast Duck and Roast Pork were very good. The roast duck has a crisp skin and not too fat. The Roast pork was also beautifully roasted with crackling skin. continue reading

I tried the roasted duck from this stall that day, managed to have the patience to queue for it. We ordered a duck to share among the few of us. A whole duck was really quite big as the duck was chopped up into many pieces. The sauce over it was sweet and it gave more flavour to the duck meat. The duck was not very oily = quite healthy! (: The meat was tender, unlike some stalls where the meat can be tough and difficult to eat. Remember to dip your pieces of duck into the chili sauce for more yummy goodness! (if you can take spiciness) continue reading
