Waiting times for a table can be really long on a weekday lunch, so do not come at 1230pm and expect to sit down and have a quick lunch. The chicken rice isn't the cheapest, but the soup is delicious and so is their achar, at least that's what my friends say. I do not like spicy stuff and the achar is too spicy for me. The chicken itself is very tender, juicy and succulent. I love it. The rice is also very flavourful. I strongly recommend to drink the soup with the rice, the soup adds so much more flavour to the rice.We also ordered a plate of char siew (roast pork) and it was very sweet, and juicy as well. Not dry, and it was surpringly tasty. A good compliment for the hainanese chicken rice. continue reading

I frequent this stall at least once a week. The friendly elderly Auntie recognized me so do her son and her daughter-in-law. My usual order has always been either mee kia or mee pok with extra chilli. It came with a few pieces of nicely peeled prawns, lean meat and fishcake. It still tasted good even if i left it for a while before eating it. Though they serve their prawn noodle with pork ribs or even with pig's tail at an extra costs but i prefer to go without it. continue reading

Another regular stall that i always go for my breakfast and lunch in this food centre. The young lady of the stall recognized me and she knew what my order is whenever she spotted me. I have always go for their mee pok with extra chilli. It has been a regular choice since they started their business in this food centre about a year ago.The lady and her husband are taking the orders, collecting payments and serving bowls of noodle. Their mother is the one doing the cooking. A basic prawn noodle is at $3.00. The serving was quite a good portion with a few pieces of de-shelled prawns, few slices of lean meat and a few slices of fish cake. Fried pork lards were added to enhance the overall taste. If you want varieties, you can choose to have it with pork ribs, the pig's tail or even small pig's intestines. Nice people serving nice foods at this humble stall. continue reading
