On a Saturday afternoon, this place wasn't crowded but it had a steady stream of customers. I ordered the Chicken Nasi Briyani ($5.80). It came with a huge drumstick! Meat was a little hard to tear but it was alright. I like the a-char as it gave a refreshing and soothing break to the spiciness. The papadum was crunchy and went really well with the chili. $5.80 for a plate of briyani is a little pricy but I would say it is worth it for the huge drumstick that you get. continue reading

Brought a plate of the mixed vegetable rice and a bowl of the mee rebus for lunch with family members. The plate of mixed vegetable rice includes the deep fried chicken wing, long bean with beancurd, deep fried potato and the curry chicken. The deep fried chicken wing is well marinate and seasoned, has a crispy skin although it is not warm when eaten. As for the curry chicken, the gravy has a light coconut taste, well seasoned. The chicken is well cooked, soft and tender texture, the chicken meat will comes off very easily with a slight pull. As for the mee rebus, it is quite similiar as compared to other stall and the gravy has the sufficient thickness. Overall, taste wise is quite normal, nothing special and the price is a little too steep. continue reading

Wanted to have something spicy for lunch so tried the lontong! Priced at around $3.80 per bowl, the lontong is served piping hot with a few types of ingredients in it. The rice cake is soft and easy to chew and the ingredients are pretty fresh and abundant. Each bowl is served with tau gua, vegetables and one boiled egg. The tau guan is soaked in the lontong and hence each bite has a burst of its lontong gravy. generally not too spicy for those who can't take spicy food and worth to try. continue reading
