This Kopitiam at Clementi is opened after a few months of renovation. I always wanted to try Ah Long new style of Pancake but never got a chance until now.I had ordered a Sugar Cheese Pancake at $1.70 each. The pancake was freshly made when ordered, so will have to wait for at least 5 minutes to be ready. The Pancake came in piping hot, outer skin was still moist and soft, not crispy. There was a mild butter aroma from the Pancake. The taste of pancake was a bit disappointing. There was more of the taste of egg than the taste or aroma of cheese.Overall, I would still prefer traditional flavour pancake from the hawker centre. continue reading

I was in a rush and decided to grab some small snacks before heading for work. Besides selling pancake, they do sell Paus, kuehs and Chee Cheong Fun. The lady was rather friendly and asked how she can help me with a smile before I can actually spoke up to make my order. I paused a while and look at the available items before deciding on Carrot Cake for my breakfast. It was rather crispy at the exterior and soft in its interior. Chillis was available at the counter to enhance the taste.Cost: S$0.80 continue reading

This stall's Yam Cake is one of the largest slice and thickest i have ever eaten. i think it was very worth, for such a large piece, it only cost a dollar plus. the yam cake was not too oily. despite being deep fried on the outside, the inside of the yam cake remained very chewy on the inside. it was very tasty, no need to eat with chilli sauce. the yam flavour was very strong. it was not too saltish as well. continue reading

This chinese pancake seem like a good alternative to buns for supper. My dad stopped by Clementi and bought home a pancake each for the family. This is the savoury version of the Chinese Bee Chiang Kueh. Instead of just putting peanuts or red bean, the auntie adds savoury ingredients like egg and hot dog. My favourite is this egg, cheese and hot dog topping one. It is pretty cheap, only $2 a piece and it is pretty large in size. The cheese simply melted and in fuse with the egg. the hot dog is so delicious amount the egg and cheese. The pancake is very chewy as well. it makes a great supper. continue reading
