I am just disappointed. I bought the cake yesterday noon at Tampines 1 branch. The strawberry shortcake always been my favorite. When I saw the cakes deliciously shown on the cake shelf, I bought one to try. I only opened the box today. The cake already a bit squashed because the cake is actually taller than the box. The lady had put some paper to make sure the cake is not move while on transport made the cake even more squash to 1 side. When I shared it with my baby daughter, I discovered the strawberry tasted like fungus. So I took a closer look and saw with horror that there are some greyish dots covering it. I would never buy from Yamazaki again. continue reading

I had bought a half loaf of this sesame bread back home for consume during snack time.  This bread may look simple and unattractive, but is really delicious and good for health.  Lots of black sesame seeds can be found in every parts of the bread which added that extra nutritional value to the bread and make it slight fragrant as well.  This bakery shop is bright and clean, with friendly counter gal serving me.  The bread is soft and moist, which great to eat it on its own. At only $1.20 per half loaf, is value for money. continue reading

I like heading to Yamazaki to get their buns for breakfast or as a light snack to go. It is a Japanese bakery and they have a pretty extensive range of breads. There a few hits and misses and my most memorable bun has got to be their sweet potato bun! They have this on-going promotion for their mini buns which are priced at 3 for $2, 5 for $3 etc. continue reading

Monday Blues was chased away especially when you have a good start and that's when my thoughtful colleague bought us some cupcakes over breakfast. These Madeline Cheese cupcakes comes in a packet of 5. At the top of its cupcakes showed a prominent yellowish color while the other parts were in baked light brown color. The cupcakes were not too moist and not too dry, just alright, a little bit oily though. They packed a good fragrance, however the cheese taste was not very distinctive.Cost: $4 per packet (5 cupcakes) continue reading

My little breakfast (motivation to wake up early) today..... I will usually skip breakfast during the holidays as by the time I wake up, it is time for lunch. Today, I make it a point to wake up earlier to have breakfast, at the same time also to tune myself to the normal routine. This is green tea with red bean cake. It is not very firm and once you bite on it, the cake crumbs will fall all over and could be quite a messy affair. However, overall, I still like it because it had my favourite green tea flavour. continue reading
