went to foodfare for dinner at quite a late hour. I wanted to try this stall's shredded chicken with mushroom noodles but sadly, they don't have anymore mushrooms ):I felt that the aunty was quite pushy! She will probably be a good saleslady. Promoted her chicken rice at first but i said i don't want rice, then she told me to try their roasted chicken noodles instead, and after a moment of pondering with some of her persuasive words, i succumbed. I asked my more veggies and since they were probably closing soon, she gave me.. 2-3 strands more.. LOL. I thought the yellow noodles were OK. It felt like she just barely cooked it, as if the moment it was cooked, she took it out. Chicken was nice. Left a nice taste in my mouth (: Skin was ok, not on the crispy side and had a layer of fats on it. The gravy was a tad sweet but if you mix it up with the yellow noodles, i don't think it'll be that obvious. I didn't try the chilli as i didn't feel like taking spicy stuff during dinnertime (will try it the next time if i can get my shredded chicken with mushroom noodles!)The noodles also came with a bowl of soup, which i thought was quite redundant as it tasted like MSG soup. In conclusion, it is quite an OK dish and will be able to satisfy your craving if you feel like eating roasted chicken! continue reading

I was having a slight cough so my mother forbided me to eat chicken. Instead she da bao home a pack of roast duck and roast pork rice, absolutely no chicken in sight. The roast duck was not too bad, the meat was chewy. the skin was a little oily though. The roast pork had very little fats in between, even if there were, it was easy to remove. The gravy for the rice was pretty tasty, would appreciate if they added more. continue reading

This stall not only sell chicken rice, they also sell duck rice, char siew rice and roast pork. I ordered a packet of duck rice, the guy manning the stall asked if I wanted to add roast pork. I thought why not, how much extra would it be. I saw that the roast duck rice cost $3.50 but after adding the roast pork, I was charged $4.80. it was really expensive. The duck was a little tough, the meat was kind of dry. the rice was a little hard. The roast pork on the other hand was good, the meat was very tender and the skin was crispy. I should have ordered roast pork rice instead. continue reading
